The continent of Al'Verian has changed. They don't know it yet.
Amber disembarks in Villa Hongo looking for a vacation. Food, a bed, men. As a mercenary, she's used to stares, but the intensity of the welcome doesn't quite add up.
Minutes later, he appears. An albino daurvian, marked with an Incubus Rune after draining a succubus cellar. He's not here for pleasure. He's here to survive. He's looking for a cure. He doesn't know he carries on his skin the seal of something much larger.
In Villa Hongo, the men vanished overnight. The bureaucracy pretends nothing happened. Something moves among the mushrooms that shouldn't be there. And both discover that Al'Verian is not a land of opportunity: it's a predator ecosystem where scarcity has awakened atrocious instincts.
But Villa Hongo is only the beginning. Every time he proves useful, the world will find a use for him. And every use will tear away a little more of his ability to choose.
