Work Text:
Settling into whatever world he'd ended up in had been difficult for the past few weeks, but Abolish woke up that morning to arms around his waist and a face buried in his hair, the man holding him still fast asleep and clinging to him like a stuffed animal, and it slowly registered in his brain that this was nice. The situation wasn't nearly as bad as it'd started out and, well, he'd be lying if he didn't admit that it was worth it.
It'd been awful at first, definitely. His… creator, of sorts, which was still an incredibly strange thing to wrap his head around, had been completely panicked and horrified at his very existence, which had not been the funnest thing to wake up to when he had no idea how he'd gotten here either. Explaining who he was and where he'd come from and trying to get the guy to believe him had been nearly impossible. He'd nearly gotten kicked out in the process, in fact.
But he was here now, the other Abolish happily cuddling him and sleeping in after a possibly too long night of work. His fingers were gently curled into his shirt, holding him there, and Abolish couldn't help but smile at how comfortable this felt. Nicer than lying in his bed alone had been for years, and much better than sleeping out on the streets would've been.
He understood why the guy had freaked out at first, admittedly. He would've also panicked if he'd made up a character and then that person had somehow turned up in his backyard. And he also understood the confusion about the differences between the two of them, things he wasn't entirely sure about either, like how much skinnier he was and how he was a couple inches shorter, not to mention the biggest difference being that his creator had not been born into the wrong body as far as he was aware.
It'd turned out to be pretty nice, though. All of the other's clothes were a bit big on him, making them even more comfy, and being slightly smaller meant getting to curl up in the other's arms and get warm a whole lot easier. And, well, he couldn't deny that he'd fantasized far too many times now about the other Abolish kissing him on top of his head or something, because apparently he was weird enough that he was attracted to a guy who was practically just himself.
But he didn't let himself think about that too much. As the man behind him shifted and pulled him a bit closer, he blinked open his eyes, craning his neck with a small hum to look back at him. When he did, the other squinted down at him and sighed, although there was a soft smile on his face that betrayed how he was just as content as Abolish felt himself.
"Morning," he whispered, tucking his face into his hair again, and Abolish was a bit too out of it to hold back a quiet giggle.
Lacing his fingers through the other man's, he hummed, "Morning. Did you sleep well?"
In return, he only got a soft hum, the other Abolish dragging him closer. He wasn't entirely sure how the two of them had ended up sleeping in the same bed every night, much less cuddling each other. It just felt… natural, which he supposed made sense considering they were the same person in a way.
After a few moments, he shifted and rolled over, sliding his arms around the back of the other man's neck. He lifted his head a bit, and before Abolish could say anything, there were lips pressing against his own, soft and warm and making his head go completely blank. His heart jumped into his throat and his eyes went wide, before he realized what was happening and leaned into the kiss before the other had a chance to regret his decision.
As their lips slotted together, his eyes fluttering closed, he couldn't help but think about just how perfect this was. Never in a million years would he have imagined himself being in any situation like this - not just in the sense of kissing himself, but kissing anyone, really. With his work and all, romance or friendship or any sort of relationship had never really been an option for him.
Here he was, though, cuddling up to a guy who seemed to not care about needing oxygen with the intensity of how much he kept kissing him, practically trying to melt right into him and crawl into his skin. He nipped at his lower lip slightly, earning a soft squeak from Abolish, and only then did he seem to realize what he was doing and pull away with a giggle.
"Sorry, sorry," he laughed breathlessly, resting their foreheads together. "I- Sorry, I got a bit… carried away. Um-"
Abolish interrupted him with a quick kiss, before pulling away again quickly to breathe, smiling as he murmured, "You're fine. I've been… hoping you'd do that, eventually."
The man's eyebrows arched, soft brown eyes glittering down at him. "And you didn't say anything?"
"I- No?" he huffed, trying to sound offended, although his grin only widened. "You said you were straight?"
"And you also said you were straight," the other pointed out, squeezing his waist for a moment. He opened his mouth, then closed it; the guy unfortunately did have a point. Maybe they were both terrible at this. Cuddling in bed every night for weeks but still thinking that they were hardly even friends.
He wasn't given another chance to speak, not before lips were pressing against his own again, a bit more firmly this time. A soft sigh left him, smiling and tilting his head to deepen the kiss. One hand snaked up to run through his hair, a bit shorter than his creator's but just as fluffy, fingers tangling in his curls and holding him as close as possible.
"I love you," he mumbled at last, breaking the kiss slightly to speak, Abolish's eyes fluttering open and staring at him. His eyes always looked so pretty, a constant deer in headlights look in a way that was, in Abolish's opinion, the cutest thing in the world. "Gosh, that feels so weird to say to…"
Anyone, a guy, myself. He trailed off with a quiet laugh, Abolish giggling along with him and leaning forward to plant a kiss on his lips again for a couple seconds. "Yeah, it… it does. I love you too, though."
