Summary
After the eighth year and eighth failed attempt of finding a mate for himself, at the age of twenty-five, Hoseok made a pact to himself. It was incredibly devastating to him to see all of his family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances alike with a partner that loved them dearly, while he himself was as alone as ever. He would try the annual mating run five more times, and if he wasn't to find a mate by the time he was thirty years-old, he would simply give up. He would accept the fact that he was unlovable and would move to the outskirts of a city so he could simply be alone without having to see everyone living with something he can't have and die alone.
At the age of thirty, after thirteen failed attempts of finding a mate, Hoseok reserved himself to do exactly that. He packed up his things, said a brief goodbye to his family and his friends, and moved away without a second thought or word. Shortly after moving to a more rural, isolated part of the country, he changed his phone number and abandoned his social media. His only companions were a dog that he adopted, who he named Mickey, and two cats named Honey and Bee.
