Chapter Text

Yasu’s head rested against the cold wooden table, his mind racing as his friends chatted amongst themselves. The diner was bound to close in at least ten minutes and his friends hadn’t even started packing up yet, these workers definitely hated their group by now.

Cecil insisted on ordering more food at this surprisingly new diner they were at. Which was reasonable since the food was great, but it’s like nobody wanted to go home that night. His mother was gonna yell at him by the time he even reached home, but that was a problem for Yasu in an hour. Right now, he had bigger problems spinning in his head.

Leon pushed a stray fry across the table, nudging Yasu’s arm. “Dude, if you stare at the wood grain any harder, you're gonna burn a hole through it. What's eating you?"

Yasu let out a groan that sounded more like a dying animal, burying his face deeper into his sleeves. “I'm doomed, guys. Completely, utterly doomed.”

“Did you fail the math test again?" William asked.

“Worse," Yasu mumbled, his voice muffled by his jacket. “My youth is slipping away and I have zero game.”

“Ohh my goddd,” Jason groaned. “Is that seriously what has got you so miserable?”

“I have no girlfriend. I have no boyfriend. All i do is spend my time with you guys!”

“Yeah, that seems about right..” Leon mumbled.

Cecil rolled her eyes, dragging the bucket of fries towards her. “So dramatic! Who cares??”

“I do!” Yasu protested. “I’m gonna die alone, is that not getting through your guys heads?!”

“You're sixteen, calm down,” Leon chuckled, snatching another fry before Cecil could pull the bucket fully out of reach. “I’m sure any girl would love to be your girlfriend.”

…

“Guys back me up here! Yasu is gonna start withering again..!”

“Oh no, don’t worry Yasu. Girls really like you.”

“Hey, didn’t one of them call him attractive today?”

“Girls are into you for sure.”

Yasu turned his head to the glass window, staring at his reflection. “Am I just not handsome enough..?”

“No! You are very handsome Yasu!” Kayla said, waving her hands around. “Seriously, you have a great face! You're just.. Not approachable..enough..!”

“Gee, thanks,” Yasu mumbled, his forehead clunking back down against the wooden table.

Daniel sighed, looking around their table before finally speaking up. “Listen, I got something.”

Yasu turned his head away, “Please don’t be something useless..”

“Look, if you’re really this desperate, there’s always that weird urban legend. You guys know that lady down on the edge of town? Madame Ruth?”

Cecil's face lighted, “Gosh! I’ve heard about her!”

“Oh.. Same, but it’s probably some false internet rumor..” Willam added.

“I don’t think so.” Daniel insisted, “She runs this shop behind the movie theater on 34th and vine. You tell her your tragic love life, and she mixes you a custom remedy. Like a real life love potion.”

Jason let out a loud snort. “A love potion? What is this, a 1950s comic book?”

But Yasu didn't laugh. Through the reflection in the glass window, his eyes widened. Desperation was a funny thing. When you felt completely invisible, even a totally insane, sketchy back alley rumor started sounding like a solid backup plan.

𑣲⋆

The group ended up getting kicked out after getting shouted at by the manager for staying there thirty minutes after closing. Yasu waved his friends goodbye, and started to walk in the direction to his home.

But the moment he walked around the first dark corner, away from the chatter of his friends, Yasu stopped.

“34th and vine.”

Fully aware that his mother was watching the clock like a hawk by this moment. He felt his sneakers stepping the way the movie theater was.

𑣲⋆

Yasu stared at the wooden sign on the door, inspecting it closely. He was sure Daniel said the name ‘Madame Ruth’ however the letters printed said otherwise.

“Madame Rue..?” Yasu muttered, squinting at the worn wooden sign that hung.

For a second, Yasu wondered if he was at the wrong place. But he was already here, and he didn't want to go back home empty handed. Taking a deep breath, Yasu reached out and pushed the heavy door open. A little bell chimed over his head.

The room inside was small and it smelled strongly of incense, and there were shelves everywhere filled with random jars and bottles. Sitting behind a counter in the back was a woman. She was shuffling a deck of cards and didn't even look up when he walked in.

"You're out late," she said, her voice a bit raspy. "And you smell like diner food."

The lady appeared to be in her mid twenties at most, Yasu pictured some old witch looking woman. Not some extremely attractive beast he stood in front. Her purple hair was horribly cut though, probably from kitchen scissors or whatever. Her makeup was smeared and looked like it had been on for days. But her? Still hot.

“Hello.. Miss..? My friend told me about this place, he said you make stuff for people who are... bad at romance.”

The woman stopped shuffling her cards. She looked up at him, and smiled. Her gold capped tooth visible as she noticed how nervous the boy was.

“Another desperate kid.” she said, leaning forward. “Sit down. Tell me what your problem is.”

Yasu swallowed hard and awkwardly sat down on the small stool across from her. He cleared his throat, trying not to look too embarrassed under her eyes. "Well... I don't have a girlfriend nor do I have a boyfriend."

…

“All my friends tell me I'm completely unapproachable. I'm worried I'm just gonna die alone.”

“Uh huh.. What’s your name, boy?”

“Yasu Masashige.”

“Well, Yasu. I think I can pull a couple strings.”

Yasu’s eyes lit up, “Seriously?!”

The witch doctor nodded, holding her hand out. “Give me your palm.”

Yasu watched as the lady took a hold of his palm, tracing her fingers as she was creating some sort of magic sign.

“Come back tomorrow.”

…

“What..? Why?!”

“Nothing,” She yawned. “I’m closing though. So, you gotta get out.”

Yasu sighed as he stood up. He wasn’t gonna waste his night arguing with the witch doctor, especially if she even decided he was hopeless as well. He shoved his hands into his pockets, sadly about to walk out the door he came in from.

“Yasu.” She called out, her smile appearing again as Yasu turned back to face her. “I’ll have something ready for you tomorrow.’

…

“Okay.”

When he pushed open the heavy wooden door at 34th and Vine the next night, the little bell chimed one again, and Madame Rue was already sitting behind the counter.

“Oh, just the person I was expecting!” The witch doctor exclaimed. She quickly stood up from her spot and placed her hands on Yasu’s shoulders from behind.

She guided him to her patched up couch, forcibly making him sit.

“What you need.. Is Love Potion No.9.”

He watched as the doctor walked all over her tiny room. She chatted with him along the way, pulling ingredients, breaking jars and doing pretty much anything to complete this little potion Yasu needed. Yasu found himself laughing and talking with her, quite the funny lady he thought. If her little ritual actually worked, a five star review was coming her way!

She bent down, turned around and gave Yasu a wink. “I’m just gonna mix it up in the sink.”

Yasu could only watch as Madame Rue casually turned the tap on, splashing water into a beaker filled with her weird, dark ingredients. She swirled it around a few times, dumped the mixture into a tiny glass flask, and pushed a cork into the top.

She walked back over and handed it to him with a proud grin. Through the glass the liquid looked thick and dark, swirling like Indian ink.

“So.." Yasu cleared his throat, staring at the sketchy bottle in his hands. “How much is it?"

“Fifty bucks,”Madame Rue said, flashing her gold tooth.

Yasu’s face immediately fell, he quickly dug into his pockets and dumped everything he had onto the couch cushion next to him. One crumbled ten dollar bill, three ones and a couple of loose quarters. Realizing it wasn't even close to fifty, he pulled out a slightly crushed strawberry milk carton, a bag of chips he hadn't eaten at lunch, and a premium energy drink out of his backpack.

"I don't have fifty," Yasu stammered. “I’m sorry-”

Madame Rue stared at the snacks, the loose change, and then looked at Yasu's desperate eyes. She laughed and made fun of him right in his face. “Right Yasu, tell ya what.. Don’t stop visiting me after this potion.”

…

“You’re a good kid soo, come by soon.” She ruffled his hair, “I enjoyed chatting, I don’t get many visitors.”

Yasu blinked, a smile spreading across his face. He quickly packed his snacks, holding the glass flask tightly in his hand. "Thank you, Madame Rue. I promise I'll come back and visit."

He waved goodbye and walked a few feet down the alleyway until he was standing right under a blinking streetlamp at the corner of 34th and Vine. Curiosity got the better of him, he pulled the cork out of the flask, bringing the opening up to his nose. Yasu immediately pulled it away, it smelled terrible and looked like it tasted like a weird mix of chemicals, sharp and bitter and smelled exactly like turpentine..!

Yasu brought the flask to his mouth, with his free hand, he pinched his nose and closed his eyes, tilting his head far back. He took a drink!

…

For a second, nothing happened. Yasu squeezed his eyes shut and coughed a lot. It burned his throat and tasted way worse than it smelled. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve, immediately regretting everything.

“What the hell..? I got scammed didn’t I?!”

Then, his head started spinning.

It hit him like a truck. His eyes snapped open, but everything looked super blurry.. The yellow light from the streetlamp above him looked like it was moving. His knees felt shaky and his brain went totally fuzzy. Suddenly, all of his awkwardness was completely gone, and he felt a crazy rush of confidence.

He couldn't even tell if it was day or night anymore, his heart was beating super fast.

Yasu stumbled out of the dark alley and onto the regular sidewalk. He tried to walk straight, but he was completely dizzy, still holding the little bottle tightly in his hand.

His brain was so fried from the potion that he completely lost his mind!! He started kissin' everything in sight! First, he leaned over and kissed a random fire hydrant on the street corner. Then, he patted a nearby metal light pole and gave it a quick kiss too, giggling to himself because everything around him suddenly felt so amazing.

What the hell..?! It was like he was falling in love with anything that came into his view! He was losing his mind wasn’t he?

𑣲⋆

Isamu leaned his back against the bus stop after walking out the convenience store. Earphones in hand, he looked around the empty street, thinking maybe it was time for him to start heading home.

He looked down at his phone, completely focused on trying to untangle the messy wires of his earphones. He was totally minding his own business and was completely unaware of what was happening across the road.

Meanwhile, Yasu’s blurry eyes locked right onto him. The potion went completely wild in his chest! Forget the fire hydrants and the walls, this boy standing at the bus stop was the most perfect thing Yasu had ever seen in his entire life.

With a huge burst of confidence, Yasu marched straight across the empty street. He didn't even care that his head was spinning. While Isamu was still looking down at his phone when he heard footsteps coming closer. He glanced up for a second and saw a dizzy looking boy, probably drunk, walking right toward him with a strange smile.

“Oh fucking hell..” He mumbled. he quickly looked back down at his phone, putting his earphones in and pretending to be super busy so the creepy stranger would just walk past.

But Yasu didn't walk past, he stepped right in front of the boy, completely blocking his view of the street.

“Hey,” Yasu babbled, his voice a little slurred but full of excitement. “Hey, look at me.”

Isamu tried his best to ignore him, keeping his eyes glued to his phone screen, though his heart was starting to beat a little faster from nerves. He didn't want any trouble, he should have gone home earlier.

“Please?” Yasu pleaded, leaning his head down trying to get into the boy's line of sight. “You’re.. you’re literally an angel.”

Isamu rolled his eyes, giving the stranger a cold glare. “Can’t you see I'm doing something? Out of here freak.”

Normally, Yasu would have been completely crushed by a look that cold. He probably would have apologized a million times and run away feeling horrible. But right now, his brain was completely fried by the potion. He didn't care about the insult at all. In fact, he thought this boy's angry glare was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.

"You're even prettier when you're mad," Yasu giggled, his filter was completely gone..!

“Who the hell do you think you are?”

“A guy who’s completely in love with you.”

“Right, well go sleep it off somewhere and we’ll see how long that love lasts.”

Before Isamu could even turn around to walk away, Yasu reached out and gently grabbed his right hand.

Isamu froze up completely, his voice cutting off in pure shock. He didn't even have time to pull his hand away before Yasu dropped down onto one knee right there on the cold pavement.

Yasu held Isamu’s hand, and held the flask in the other. He pressed his lips to the soft knuckles of the angel, Isamu felt the smile on his hands. Did this guy really have the nerve to smile right now?!

Isamu’s jaw dropped, his face instantly turning a shade of red, all the way to the tips of his ears. His mind went totally blank.. he was completely trapped, staring down at this random, handsome stranger who was suddenly kneeling at his feet like a knight in a movie.

"What the.. what the hell?!" Isamu stammered, his voice shaking as he tried to pull his hand back.

But Yasu wouldn't let go at all. He stayed right there on his knee, holding Isamu's hand now tightly, one hand holding Isamu’s and the other still clutching the little glass flask. He looked up at Isamu with wide, completely glazed over eyes.

"Don't pull away," Yasu whined dramatically, "Your hand is so warm, you're literally perfect, did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"

Isamu felt like his brain was completely melting. “Stand up! Let go of me, you idiot! Someone is gonna see us!” he yelled.

He was panicking so much that he started flailing around, trying everything to get his hand back. In all the chaos, Isamu's foot kicked out and smacked right into Yasu's other hand.. the one holding the glass flask..

Shatter!

The little bottle flew out of Yasu's grip and shattered into tiny pieces on the pavement, the dark ink like liquid spilling everywhere!

Yasu blinked hard. His vision cleared up, and he looked down at his own hands. Then, he slowly looked up at the very angry, very cute boy whose hand he was still tightly holding.

The loud noise of the bottle smashing worked like magic. Instantly, the crazy dizzy feeling in Yasu’s head completely vanished, did he brain start working again?

Yasu's heart dropped into his stomach, he felt his entire body turn completely hot from pure mortification. He opened his mouth, but his voice was totally stuck in his throat. He was so embarrassed he wanted to literally melt into the concrete.

"I- I am so-" Yasu stammered.

Right at that exact second, a bright flashlight beam blinded both of them.

"Hey! What are you two kids doing out past curfew?!" a deep voice shouted.

A random cop walked up to the bus stop, looking super grumpy. He shined the flashlight right at Yasu, who was still frozen on the ground, and then at Isamu, who was covering his face with his free hand.

"Hey! I'm talking to you two! Get over here!" the cop shouted, walking faster toward the bus stop.

Before the cop could even get close enough to grab him, Yasu scrambled to his feet, turned around, and just bolted. He didn't look back once, just running til his lungs burned, his face completely on fire from how embarrassed he was. He just wanted to go home, lock himself in his room, and pretend tonight never happened.

The next afternoon, Yasu was doing his absolute best to blend into the background. He had barely slept because his brain was constantly replaying the image of himself kneeling on the dirty pavement. He just wanted to get through the day as he hung out with his friends.

"Hey, Yasu, you want anything from the store?" Leon asked, shoving the convenience store door open as their group walked out onto the sidewalk.

"Nah, I'm good."

"Man, you are still acting like a zombie today," Jason laughed, tearing open a bag of chips. "Did you actually go look for that witch lady last night or something?"

…

"What?! No! Obviously not, that's stupid," he blurted out quickly, his voice a little too high. "I just.. stayed up late studying."

"Sure you did," Cecil rolled her eyes, sipping a soda.

“I’m serious!”

𑣲⋆

He and his friends laughed down the sidewalk, pushing and shoving each other as they blocked the pathway. For a while, Yasu’s mind actually ran away from the event last night. He smiled whenever Jason made another stupid joke, he laughed when Kayla almost pushed him into a construction site, and he got terrified when Cecil would go on about her recent horror game she played.

However, it’s not like this good time wasn’t gonna last for long.

Yasu happened to glance up at the crowd walking from the other side of the street. His eyes locked onto a boy with dark hair who was walking by himself.

Isamu was just minding his own business, but the second he looked up and noticed Yasu, he stopped completely. He just stood there in total shock, his eyes wide as he recognized the crazy kid from the bus stop.

When it finally registered in Yasu's head that this was the exact same guy he had knelt in front of last night, his brain instantly short circuited. Without saying a single word to his friends, Yasu spun on his heel and started to run away as fast as he could, running away from his problems once again.

William immediately stepped to the side before Yasu could run into him, “Yasu..? Where are you going?!” he asked, a little louder than his usual tone.

But Yasu didn't answer. He was already booking it down the sidewalk.

Isamu took a second to snap out of his initial shock, his eyes narrowing as he watched the crazy guy try to escape him for the second time. "Hey! Wait! Stop right there!" Isamu shouted, his voice silenced the busy street. He probably looked just as insane as Yasu did but he bolted straight after him.

"What is going on?!" Kayla yelled.

“Should we run after?” Jason asked, pulling his phone out already trying to record the scene happening right in front of them.

Cecil started walking ahead as the group followed. “Oh my god, I knew Yasu got himself into some kinda trouble.” She muttered under her breath.

Yasu was running for his life, his heart pounding heavily as he forced his way through groups of random people on the sidewalk. He could hear the loud and heavy footsteps catching up right behind him. He thought he was fast, but Isamu was way faster. Before Yasu could even reach the street corner, a hand reached out and aggressively grabbed him by the hood of his jacket.

"Got you!" Isamu huffed, yanking the fabric back with a ton of force.

"Ack- let go!" Yasu choked out, his neck getting caught in his collar as his forward speed suddenly stopped.

Because Yasu kept trying to run forward while Isamu was pulling him back, they both completely lost their balance. Their shoes got tangled together, and they both went flying sideways right off the sidewalk.

CRASH!!

They flew straight into the outdoor dining area of a small cafe. They slammed right into a metal table, sending a menu holder, a basket of bread, and a glass of ice water flying into the air. The table tipped over with a loud screech on the concrete, and they rolled onto the floor in a messy pile of arms and legs.

A couple sitting at the next table jumped up in shock, and a waiter nearby just froze with a tray in his hand, staring at the disaster.

Yasu groaned, his back hitting the ground pretty hard. When he finally opened his eyes, he couldn't even breathe. Isamu had landed right on top of him, one of his hand was still tightly gripping Yasu's jacket and the other was pressed onto the stone floor. Isamu was breathing heavily, his face totally red from the chase and how embarrassed he was.

Yasu’s heart was beating so fast he thought it might explode. He couldn't even move, totally trapped under this boy. Up close, he realized just how cute the guy actually was, which only made him panic ten times harder.

"You..." Isamu panted. "You run away.. way too much."

Yasu swallowed hard, his voice shaking. "You- you chased me!"

“Damn it, are you an athlete or something? This is-” He wheezed, “The most I’ve ever ran since summer started.”

Yasu just blinked up at him, completely stunned. He didn't expect the guy from last night to complain about how bad his cardio was in the middle of a ruined cafe.

"I'm not an athlete," Yasu mumbled, his face turning a shade of pink. "I was just running for my life."

"From me?!" Isamu snapped, though he had to pause to catch his breath again. “Am I endangering it somehow?!”

“What? You chased me down the street?!” Yasu argued back.

“Because you bolted the second I looked at you!” Isamu shot back, still breathing hard. “Who wouldn't chase someone who did.. that last night and then ran away from a cop?!”

“Oh gosh, the cop..!”

“Yeah! I was the one who had to stay back and cover for us. You're a stranger and I still saved-”

SPLASH!

Before Isamu could even finish the word, the glass of ice water that had been flying through the air came crashing right down on them. Yasu flinched as a few cold drops hit his face, but Isamu got the absolute worst of it. The entire glass poured right onto the back of Isamu's head and down his shirt. A few actual ice cubes bounced off his shoulders and fell onto the stone floor.

Isamu stopped talking instantly, his mouth still half-open. He completely froze, letting out a tiny pitched gasp from the shock of the freezing cold water soaking through his clothes. His hair was instantly dripping wet, clumping together over his eyes.

Yasu stared up at him, his own mouth wide open. All the heat and anger from their fight was totally gone, leaving Isamu looking like a very wet, very miserable cat.

Before either of them could even move, a shadow blocked the sun above them. They both slowly looked up.

Standing right over them was a very tall, very angry waiter. He had his hands on his hips, his face completely twisted in a scowl as he looked at the overturned metal table, the wet concrete, and the two boys lying in a puddle.

"Excuse me," the waiter said, his voice dropping to a scary quiet whisper. "Are you two finished flirting in our dining area, or do I need to call the actual police?"

Yasu's face flushed pink. “Flirting..?”

Isamu’s eyes went completely wide. He scrambled backward off of Yasu so fast he accidentally kicked the leg of the overturned table, splashing the puddle of water all over his own shoes. He stumbled onto his hands and knees before frantically pushing himself up to stand, dripping wet and shivering.

"We weren't flirting!" Isamu stammered out, "He- he stole my- I mean, he ran away, and I was just-"

Yasu scrambled up right after him, quickly dusting off his clothes. "It was an accident, sir! We are so sorry! We didn't mean to break anything!"

"You knocked over a table and ruined a customer's clean glass," the waiter said, crossing his arms. "You're lucky the couple sitting here already left, or you'd be paying for their lunch too. Either you pay for the broken glass right now, or I'm getting the manager."

Just as Yasu was about to panic and check his empty pockets, loud footsteps came rushing up to the edge of the patio.

"Yasu?!" Leon yelled, out of breath.

The entire friend group finally skidded to a halt. Jason was still holding his phone up, capturing the exact moment a soaking wet Isamu and a terrified Yasu were getting chewed out by a restaurant worker.

"Oh my god," Cecil mumbled, her jaw dropping as she looked around. "Did you guys seriously just wreck a cafe?"

Yasu panicked, frantically checking his pockets even though he already knew they were completely empty. He didn't even have a single quarter left after yesterday. Next to him, Isamu was shivering in his wet clothes, looking just as stressed out.

Before the waiter could pull out his phone to call security, Kayla groaned loudly and stepped forward. She dug into her purse, pulled out a crumpled twenty dollar bill, and slapped it right onto the waiter's metal tray.

"Here," Kayla sighed, rubbing her temples. "Keep the change. Just please don't call the cops on my idiot friend."

“And whoever that is..” Daniel glared, looking at Isamu from head to toe.

Isamu looked back at Daniel with a sharp expression, but he couldn't even pretend to act tough because he was still completely shivering in his wet t shirt. Water was actively dripping off his chin, and he looked incredibly uncomfortable.

He opened his mouth to say something, but before he could even speak, Jason and Leon grabbed him by the arms.

"Whoa, hold on a second, wet guy," Jason said, pushing Isamu toward a nearby stone bench on the sidewalk.

"Yeah, you're not going anywhere yet, you too Yasu." Leon added, grabbing Yasu by his hoodie and dragging him over too.

Jason and Leon basically forced both of them to sit down side by side on the cold stone bench. The whole friend group instantly formed a tight circle around them, crossing their arms and staring down at them like a bunch of strict detectives.

Isamu sat there shivering, his wet hair dripping onto his lap. He looked completely annoyed but also too tired to fight back. Next to him, Yasu was staring straight at his own sneakers, his face burning so hot he thought his skin might actually melt off.

“Listen, I’m so so sorry.” Yasu whispered. “You can take my jacke-”

Isamu clicked his tongue, “Your jacket? Dude, your jacket is literally the reason I’m soaked in the first place! If you hadn't pulled me into the table, I wouldn't be freezing to death right now.”

Yasu winced, pulling his hood down even further over his face. He wished he could just disappear into thin air.

"Okay, cut it out," Daniel interrupted, stepping forward and glaring at both of them. He pointed directly at Isamu. "Who even are you? And why was Yasu sprinting away from you like his life depended on it?"

…

“Funny story..” Yasu chuckled awkwardly.

“I wasted twenty bucks, Yasu, speak!” Kayla scolded.

Yasu swallowed hard, "Okay, so, basically.. I might have gone to that place Daniel talked about. The one on 34th and Vine."

"No way," Jason gasped, a grin spreading on his face. "You actually went to the witch doctor?!"

"I didn't think it would be real!" Yasu defended himself quickly. "She gave me this weird juice called Love Potion No.9. I took a sip, my head started spinning, and suddenly my brain completely malfunctioned! I literally lost my mind, I started kissin' everything in sight! A fire hydrant, a light pole..."

Isamu, who was still shivering next to him, looked over with horrified eyes. "Wait.. Is that what I broke of yours?! A love potion..?!"

"Yeah!" Yasu squeaked,"And the noise of it breaking is literally what snapped me out of it!"

"So you're telling me you were under the influence of some sketchy alleyway juice? And I had to lie to a police officer at midnight because of a fake magic potion?!"

"It felt real at the time!" Yasu whined,"I thought you were an actual angel!"

“Shut up!” Isamu yelled, kicking Yasu’s leg hard.

“Enough!” Cecil said, “Stop arguing and tell us what happened!”

"Like I said! The potion made me think he was an angel! I couldn't control myself! I dropped to one knee and.. I may.. Or may not.. Have kissed him..”

…

“He’s just playing in our faces isn’t he?” William asked, breaking the silence.

"I wish I was!" Yasu yelled. "I literally wish I was lying right now!"

"Wait, wait, wait," Jason stammered, frantically bringing his phone out again. "You actually kissed him? Like, on the lips?!"

"No!" Isamu barked out before Yasu could even open his mouth. His face turned an even darker shade of red, matching his wet shirt. "He kissed the back of my hand! Like some kind of creepy royal knight!"

"Oh my god!" Cecil screeched, clutching her stomach as she leaned against a streetlamp. "Yasu, you did not! A hand kiss?! Who do you think you are, Romeo?!"

Leon was laughing so hard, he immediately dropped down onto the sidewalk pavement right in front of Jason, grabbing his hand dramatically. "Oh, my fair angel! Let me kiss your knuckles!"

"Get away from me!" Jason wheezed.

Yasu groaned loudly, "I told you guys my brain malfunctioned! The bottle got smashed right after anyway!"

Isamu let out a rough sigh and stood up from the stone bench, his wet shoes making a loud squishing sound on the concrete, shivering as the cold tshirt stuck to his skin. He glared down at Yasu, looking completely done with the day.

"You owe me a shirt," Isamu said, his teeth chattering a little bit. "For ruining this one, and for making me sprint down the street."

Yasu slowly looked up from his hands, blinking. "Uh.. okay. How am I supposed to give it to you?"

"Figure it out. You're the one who found me," Isamu muttered. He didn't even wait for Yasu to say anything else. He just turned on his heel and started walking away, his wet shoes squeaking loudly with every step as he disappeared into the crowd.

…

“A kiss and everything, and Yasu still has no game.”

“Shut up Daniel!"
