Work Text:

It was a chilly September evening; about 6:30PM, the sky was painted with pastel oranges and pink hues spilled over the clouds. Today was the long awaited day of Sei and Ivy’s wedding!! The wedding venue was bustling, guests and caterers and a photographer too!— and, of course, the priest & weds. The crowd was large, many gathered to watch the ceremony for this life-altering event. Though, not the entire crowd was excited. Anastasia, Nadia, and Mira were sitting together irritatedly. Their jealousy of the groom & bride evident, in the envious glares they gave across the audience. “Ugh, I cannot believe i’m sitting at a wedding right now, and it’s not MINE.” Anastasia muttered sharply, underneath her breath. Nadia and Mira gave curt nods of agreement with her whispered complaint, clearly feeling the same way. Meanwhile, Alex and Argyle were sitting together, waiting for Kasa to arrive. Argyle listening to Alex spew nonsensical brainrot each passing minute, feeling his IQ dropping at a rapid pace. “Tusk ash beef salami— Argyle got dat rizz!!!” Alex babbled, swaying his legs on the chair. Argyle sighed softly, lips parting to speak. “Alex, what day is it?” Argyle asked simply; Alex’s eyes lit up excitedly. “Your last!! Lord verity mentioned..🤤” Alex replied hastily, a grin spreading across his face. Argyles expression twisted into one of disdain, as he decided to ignore Alex. Kasa hurrying over and sliding into the seat next to Argyle, leaning against him naturally.

In the back of the venue, Koren was eating a scone— sitting inbetween Jay (the cool one) and Theo (the huzzless). Lisya seated nearby, along with Leon The Wise. Dead bricks and Pizza sitting next to eachother, silently, near Kio. The crowd quieting down as the ceremony began, Rei (the priest) standing infront of a lectern, inbetween the groom and where the bride would be promptly. Finally, as music began to play— the focus shifted to Ivy. The bride walking in quietly, dress trailing behind her with each slowly paced step. Sei’s eyes glittered with welling tears as his gaze fixed onto his fíance (soon-to-be wife). Rei straightened infront of the lectern, clearing their throat as Ivy took her place next to them. “Sei (middlename, lastname) , do you take Ivy (middlename, lastname) to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?” Rei’s voice resonated steadily, carrying across the crowd clearly. Sei nodded eagerly. “I do.” Rei shifted their attention to Ivy, parting their lips to speak again. “Ivy (middlename, lastname) , do you take Sei (middlename, lastname) to be your husband? Do you promise to be faithful to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love him and to honor him all the days of your life?” Sei repeated accordingly. Ivy nodded, eyes glistening with emotion… “I do.” She confirmed, shakily. Rei took a small step back, nodding. “I now pronounce you husband & wife. You may kiss the bride.” They spoke. As Ivy and Sei kissed, and Sai (the photographer, with a Hasselblad X2D II 100C camera) took photos— Anastasia quietly rose from her seat, turning sharply as she exited the venue.

As Anastasia walked, she dwelled angrily over the fact she hadn’t gotten married yet; and her thoughts returned to the christmas themed afterparty scheduled for after the wedding. ‘what a silly afterparty, i’m not going!’ she thought to herself, then suddenly had a brilliant idea. Recently she’d heard of some fortune teller— Evil music guru, the evil half vampire half siren witch that everybody goes to whenever they need fortune tellings (allegedly). Anastasia, on a whim, decided to get her fortune told. Changing direction to go meet with Evil music guru, in their fortune telling business. Once she arrived there, she burst through the doors and sprinted to the desk. The clerk at the front (7) straightened, his focus focusing on anastasia. “Hi how can i help yo—“ he started, yet was interrupted by Anastasia throwing money at his face. A small wad of dollar bills, then she turned the corner and jogged into the room Evil music guru sat in. The fortune teller perked up at the sight of Anastasia, shifting their weight as they sat infront of their crystal ball. Anastasia sat down hastily, panting jaggedly from running here.. “Can you tell my fortune?!” Anastasia pleaded, eyes wide and hopeful. Evil music gurus eyebrow twitched, before they gave a nod and began to rub their crystal ball, eyes fluttering shut in deep concentration. “I see….at a fateful party.. you will meet your dream man..” They prophesied, voice certain and clear. Anastasia gasped softly, stiffening as her mind began to race; she HAD to go to that christmas afterparty now! Anastasia rose to her feet, nodding with gratitude. “Thank you, you’ve opened my eyes!” She gasped, then spun to leave, hastily running to the exit.

At the christmas afterparty, it was loud— bright lights dancing along the reflective floor as people mingled and chattered freely. Some people setting up a game of UNO; Kasa, Alex, Baby, Argyle, Jay (the cool one), along with Nadia & Mira sitting together, talking quietly. “Where is Anastasia, did she decide to skip out on the party?” Nadia inquired, brows furrowing together. Mira shrugged lightly, also unaware of Anastasia’s whereabouts. In that moment, Anastasia walked in. Nadia and Mira stood, to go speak with her. As that was happening, the game of UNO began. “Okay.. the color is Yellow!” Kasa chirped, as the first card was played. Alex burst out into a fit of giggles, as Kasa spoke. “Verity, verity!!!” Alex exclaimed with pure joy. Jay squinted, and Argyle tilted his head in confusion. “My friend… We’re playing UNO, not talking about Verity, haha!…” Argyle reminded, voice calm and steady… but alex just kept giggling uncontrollably. Meanwhile, Anastasia was left alone by the bar as Nadia & Mira had went to go use the restroom— leaving her stranded, and eager to meet someone. So eager, she didn’t realize someone was behind her when she turned to go mingle— and bumped directly into a tall man, with tattoos and defined muscles. Her jaw gaping as her drink spilt from her hands— and splattered across the man’s shirt. “Ohmygod— i’m so sorry!” She exclaimed, taking a step back… then met his eyes, feeling butterflies in her stomach. Kasa noticed the scene, and as the peacemaker stood from the game of UNO. Walking over quietly; with a polite smile. “Uhm, is everything okay?” He inquired. Anastasia turned to Kasa, feeling frustration bubbling up. They could’ve just had a cute romcom moment— and KASA ruined it! “Yeah, it’s FINE, Kasa. Can you go? Clearly i’m landing me a man!” Anastasia scolded, irritatedly. Kasas eyes widened, surprise flashing across his face. “Did you not just meet this guy?.. Anastasia, you should really be safe.. what if he’s dangerous?” Kasa fretted— Anastasia felt a wave of frustration at Kasa’s rude assumption, and grabbed the guys wrist. “I’m leaving this party!” She declared, spinning with the guy in her grip, and exiting angrily. Kasa froze in place, confused and stunned… before reluctantly turning back around and returning to the group playing UNO.

As Kasa sat back down by Argyle, he gave an apologetic smile for his absence. “Hi! I hope I didn’t miss too much, did I?” Alex’s eye twitched subtly, as he leaned forward. Anger evident in his gaze. “Oh yeah, nothing much, except ARGYLE cheating! Can you tell him it’s perfectly fair to stack 3 skip cards to skip one player 3 times instead of 3 players?” Alex exclaimed, resulting in Argyle signing sharply, as he tapped the table absently. “No, it’s not! Are you deranged? You can’t do that.“ Argyle retorted, making Baby tilt their head. “I mean, isn’t stacking cards legal? i’m not sure about skipping one person multiple times though…” Baby chimed in, making both Alex and Argyle glare at them. Kasa sighed softly, as the peacemaker, and extended his arms to separate everyone so they ddint bite each other’s heads off. “Guys, please! There’s no need to fight!” Kasa pleaded, looking tired. Alex’s eyes narrowed, as he frowned. “Well, why not?” Alex countered, quickly. “How can I lovity you guys when you’re being verity cruelity, and making falsity claims!” He added, his point clear despite the brainrot… Kasa rose to his feet, determination in his eyes. “Because… WE are Midnight Junction!” Kasa declared loudly; making everyone in the room freeze as his words echoed clearly and rung across the room. His sentence resonated deeply with each person, and multiple people began to slowly nod along in agreement. Alex stood, to speak. “He’s verity right… WE are /guccimorty!!!” He declared, looking upon each person in this room… Argyle, Kio, Mochi, Dead bricks, Pizza, where anastasia was, Nadia, Mira, Mochi #2, Akechi, Eden, Soul, Lisya, Ila, Theo, Leon the wise, Jay, Koren, Sei, Ivy, Rei, Ashity (who hates everyone), and Kasa. And, everyone else in this server aswell.

the end. WE. are midnight junction.
