"Lord, do you believe in soulmates?" Aldo suddenly asked without any type of warning, his gaze focused on how beautiful the valley looked from the heights illuminated by the moonlight.
As expected, it caught Multi off guard, the sleepiness that had been growing on him suddenly disappearing. He rolled his eyes thinking about the stupidity he was being asked, but the answer came out anyways. "That's black magic." He gave a glare to the knight the moment he heard his laughter. "What? Do you really believe in that blasphemous nonsense?"
Aldo stopped laughing and simply took a moment to think, then gave a faint shrug. "Maybe. In a world like this, sometimes it's nice to imagine there's some kind of... mystical power that makes someone's heart beat faster when they're close to their destined one."
Just like how his heart beat faster whenever Aldo was nearby.
