Summary
When something falls from the sky during one of the worst snowstorms in decades, you expect to find wreckage behind your cabin.
You do not expect to find a blue-skinned man lying unconscious in a crater.
Calling for help would mean surrendering him to people who might see an alien specimen before they see an injured man. So you drag him inside, remove enough weapons to supply a small army, and decide to keep him secret until he wakes.
Loki insists that he is a god, not an alien. He also insists on leaving immediately—despite his injuries, his failing magic, and the wilderness disappearing beneath the storm. Offering him your couch is supposed to be temporary.
But winter is long, the cabin is small, and somewhere between shared meals, old wounds, and the blue hand he is slowly learning to let you hold, temporary begins to feel dangerously like home.
