   Summary

Coen had done everything right, hadn't he?

He condemned the Manumits. Saved his family. Spared Laslea from the blood tax. Caved to Brencis's every demand, just as his father asked. That was supposed to be the end of it.

Unfortunately for Coen, their beloved Knyaz has a vested interest in bringing his youngest 'son' home.
Unfortunately for Brencis, Pieter will do everything in his power to make damn sure he never gets the chance.
