Summary
In the distant future humanity has conquered most of the Milky Way and has now ruled the stars for thousands of years led by the iron grip of Earth's kings. Duke Lawrence who rules over the planet of Chendu lives with his wife Duchess Meredith and their son and heir Oliver. One day he is given word that King Maximus II of Earth wants Meredith to be his son prince Peter's royal maid. The position of royal maid is a time honoured tradition but one bound in secrecy with most women who enter the service never returning to their families. With refusal being treason the family must journey to Earth and Meredith must accept her role as the prince's royal maid only to discover that prince his cruel brat and the role is nothing but a way to strip Meredith of her dignity as a noblewoman. Lawrence and Oliver must both work together to free Meredith from her servitude before it is too late.
