Work Text:
2nd Person Reader POV (for the entire story):
Stiles (1):
You're wandering through the pack loft taking in the rare calming silence when out the corner of your eye you catch sight of a pill bottle in the kitchen.
The ADHD pills belong to Stiles, why he keeps them on the kitchen counter is something you'll never understand.
Deciding to be a little nosy you take a step closer to view the little piece of paper you know to be stashed inside.
On the paper are the days of the week and little check marks to show when he's taken his medicine (per your suggestion). You frown when you see today has no check mark next to it, meaning Stiles never took one.
Knowing he's at school and will never be able to focus in such a state, you make the quick decision to bring them to him. You shoot a text off to Peter, letting him know where you're going and that you should be back long before he gets home, then you're out the door.
Time Skip- At The School:
You're waiting slightly impatient for Stiles to appear in the parking lot where you're casually leaning against your car.
You called him very briefly, letting him know you were outside so he could come out and meet you. You would have gone inside to drop it off at the office but figured there would be no easy way to explain your connection to Stiles without some elaborate lie, this was your best option.
"Hey Y/N!"
Your head snaps up at the sudden words. Stiles is standing in front of you with a slightly concerned smile.
"You okay?"
You chuckle at his concern, flattered even if it's not totally necessary.
"I'm fine Stiles, just thinking."
You pause before turning around to face your car, taking his pill bottle out and handing it to him.
"You forgot this on the counter, and I noticed you didn't take them today. Sorry for peaking, but I just wanted to be sure. I figured I'd bring them to you since I know that not taking them for a day can really throw you off."
He looks down at the pills with raised eyebrows, stunned into silence (for once). He shakes the bottle for a moment, then quickly takes the cap off to have one.
"Thanks Y/N... thanks for noticing and don't worry about checking, if it was anyone else, I'd be pissed."
You snort and give Stiles a slight nudge.
"Of course, now get back to class."
"Yes mom."
You'd have thought he was joking when he said this if not for the fact that he goes completely still afterwards. A still Stiles is an eerie Stiles. Though you're confused you decide the poor kid is clearly embarrassed enough, deciding to play it off with a laugh and a light shove.
"Get out of here!"
Erica & Cora (2-2.5):
You're leaning comfortably against the back of the sofa with Peter sprawled across your lap when Cora and Erica slam the front door open- causing you to startle and Peter to chuckle. Of course he'd find failing to warn you- amusing.
"Girls! Be gentle with the door! Why are you storming in guns a blazing anyways?"
Erica stomps her way over to you and your husband. She stops to stand directly in front of you, hands on hips while Cora stays lingering near the entrance.
Peter, seeing Erica's dramatic stance slowly sits up as she begins talking.
"Me and Cora planned on going shopping, but of course my car decided to break down! TODAY OF ALL DAYS! Y/N, DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S COMING UP SOON?! THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!"
You heave a sigh, of course you know what's coming up soon, Erica has yet to stop fretting about it every time she's at the pack house. You don't want to say it's getting on your nerves, but... it's becoming a lot. Even Boyd, her boyfriend and inherent anchor can't seem to quite calm her down.
"Yes, Erica, I know prom's coming up. Did you plan on getting your dresses today?"
Erica goes to respond, though Cora beats her to it.
"Well, Erica was going to get her dress; I'm still not going. Just moral support today."
Peter frowns.
"Are you sure Cora? You'll have plenty of friends there."
She crosses her arms over her chest, looking off to the side.
"I just don't think it's for me."
"Oh, come now, niece-"
You place a light hand on Peter's arm to get him to stop. You know hounding Cora, even in good faith, is only going to make her shut down more.
"Cora, if you don't want to go, that's perfectly fine..."
You turn to face Erica, who's still pouting, before continuing, "...and Erica if you need a ride to the mall, I'd be happy to take the both of you. I know how much this means to you and you need to stop stressing yourself over it. You'll have a great time I promise."
You notice Peters smirk from the corner of your eye as Erica lights back up, as if nothing was ever wrong in the first place.
She's practically bouncing in place as she grabs your arm to tug you up and away from the cozy afternoon you were once having.
"THANKS, MOM! THIS IS GONNA BE GREAT!"
Cora snorts, "Yeah, thanks mom."
Before you can even register that, you and the girls are out the door leaving Peter behind, warmly looking your way.
Isaac (3):
It's late into night when you and Peter finally managed to fall asleep after a long night of research- only for a strange noise to wake you from your light slumber.
Your first instinct is to peer over at Peter who's still sleeping soundly, wearing special noise cancelling headphones to dull his senses. You managed to haggle Chris Argent for them a while back. Wanting them to allow Peter a good night's rest in the pack house that never seems to quiet down- especially for a werewolf's heightened senses. He was wary at first, but soon after becoming comfortable enough with his pack, allowed them to be put to use.
"Mom?"
You jump, turning to face the door where a human-shaped shadow blocks the frame.
Squinting into the darkness you notice the figure is shaking, covering their mouth with their hands to shield, what you can only assume to be, loud cries.
It takes another brief moment for your eyes to further adjust.
"Isaac?"
The wolf sniffs and shuffles closer.
"I had another nightmare... can I... can I stay with you for a bit?"
You immediately soften and pat the bed by your feet, urging him to sit down.
"Come here before you topple over."
Without another word he follows your instructions, shooting a worried glance at a lightly snoring Peter as he hits the mattress.
You chuckle, "don't worry he'll stay asleep. He can't hear much, plus he's exhausted from helping me figure out what's going on with the Nemeton."
The poor kid is still lightly shaking as he responds, "that probably means you're exhausted too. I'm sorry Y/N."
You watch as he begins tearing up once more.
"None of that, come here."
You open your arms, but stay where you are, leaving it up to him if he wants to engage in physical contact right now. You know after a nightmare he sometimes wants to stay inside his own little bubble.
Before you can even contemplate putting your arms back down, you have a sobbing Isaac in your embrace.
You hold him tight knowing the sensation grounds him while making light shushing noises and running your fingers through his hair.
You start muttering, "it's okay, it wasn't real. You're safe here in the pack house..."
You cycle through your usual reassurances until you feel him grow still, letting you know he's finally fallen back asleep.
Gently leaning him down between you and Peter, you lay back down yourself, drifting off into a peaceful rest- missing Peter's red eyes staring at you in the dark.
Boyd (4):
"Peter, have you seen my favorite sweater? I've been looking for it everyw-"
Causing an abrupt stop to your yelling is the sight that greets you in your kitchen. Sitting on the floor is not Peter, but your usual steadfast pack member, Boyd.
He's got his head in his hands while he leans against the counter, wearing what you now notice to be your aforementioned sweater.
His head shoots up when he realizes you've spotted him, hastily wiping tears away as he mumbles, "hey Y/N, sorry, didn't know you were home..."
He nervously looks down before continuing, "...I uh... sorry about the sweater too. I can give it back."
He begins to sluggishly remove the sweater though you're quick to rush over- stopping him in his tracks.
"No, no, don't worry about it. Are you okay Boyd?"
He pauses to think as a frown creeps over his face.
"Yeah I'm... no... I don't know."
He shakily sighs, looking down at your sweater to fiddle with the sleeves. You carefully sit in front of him, giving him time to gather his thoughts.
"Sometimes I just get overwhelmed, you know? This life can be a lot and I love Erica, but sometimes... sometimes everything is too much."
You take a deep breath, allowing yourself a moment to take that in. Boyd stubbornly keeps his eyes away from yours.
"Boyd... I'm sorry you've been feeling this way, and you can always talk to me or even Peter, he's your Alpha after all. Though, I think... I think maybe a professional could really help you with this. We can even find one that knows about the supernatural, I'm sure Peter knows someone. It's totally up to you though. I'm absolutely NOT trying to tell you what to do."
All is silent until Boyd begins to chuckle.
"Thanks mom, I think I'll talk to Peter about it. Oh, and I'll return your sweater later. Don't worry I'll wash it and everything."
You go to wave him off before fully grasping what he'd just called you. "That's like the 5th time I've been called mom lately. What's up with you people?"
He abruptly stands, muttering, "I hear Peter, we're going to pretend I never said that. Bye Y/N."
Then he's gone- leaving you confused and slightly annoyed. 'I should do some reading, shouldn't I?' You can't help but wonder.
Derek (5):
"Hello, dear nephew."
You snort from under Peter's arm. You've both just come back from a shopping trip, Peter holding a few bags in one hand and the other being firmly wrapped around your shoulders. He always insists on carrying everything, never letting you help out.
Derek lifts his head up from the book he'd been reading to give his uncle a piercing glare before his eyes shift to you, softening considerably.
"Hey, Y/N how was the shopping trip?"
Peter fondly scoffs at being dismissed in such a way yet allows you to respond without interruption.
"It went pretty well. I think we finally got everything we need to finish decorating the house. I'm glad it's finally over, but it was a fun project!" You enthusiastically smile.
Peter lightly nudges you before removing his arm and making his way over to Derek to set the bags down, conveniently, right in front of him.
"Since you two are sooo excited about this, you can both go through the bags while I do anything else."
Derek scoffs. "I'm not the Alpha, Alpha." His tone is purely sarcastic causing you to chuckle. Moving towards him you softly tap his head.
"Play nice Derek. Peter's just grumpy because I won the argument about what towel colors to choose."
"You win every argument with him, mom."
You freeze, watching Derek do the same.
Turning slowly, you glance at Peter who looks entirely too pleased with the situation.
"Peter?"
"Yes dear?"
"Why does the entire pack keep calling me mom?"
He lightly smiles. "I suppose we should have this discussion now."
He stands, grabbing your hand to pull you along so that you can have a more private conversation. Leaving a poor red-faced Derek in your wake.
Peter (+1)
Upon reaching Peter's office, he softly shuts the door with a small 'click' while you start pacing the room.
You begin whispering under your breath, "Is this bad? Should we be concerned, I mean I'm not even a woman! A lot of the pack have mothers; I don't want to be caught in the middle of anything!" Peter what do I-"
Hands holding the side of your face and a warm pair of lips on yours melts all the rushing thoughts from your brain.
Before you can even reciprocate, Peter's backing away with a small smile.
"Y/N it's not bad I promise. If anything, this has been a long time coming."
You tilt your head, confusion written across your face.
"A long time coming? Why?"
He guides you to sit down as he begins talking, "it boils down to me being the alpha and you being my mate. You've essentially taken on the role of pack mom, even without being a woman yourself. It's not a gender thing it's more of an... essence. You take care of the pack, you help when they need it, and you're ALWAYS there for them. The wolf's natural reaction is to respond to that sort of treatment."
He pauses, scanning your face before continuing, "sweetheart, that kind of care is one of the many reasons I fell in love with you."
You can feel your face flushing from a combination of the packs reasoning for the odd behavior and Peter's honeyed words.
Leaning into him you finally respond, "I didn't know they saw me that way... I didn't even realize I was acting 'motherly'".
Peter huffs. "That's what makes you so special."
You smile, peering up at him. "I love you too by the way."
"I know, I'm very lovable."
Before you can retort, a voice rings throughout the house, "NO, YOU'RE NOT PETER!"
You watch with great amusement as your husband's eyes flash red.
"CORA, I SWEAR-"
