Work Text:

It was a pale rainy day on campus but luckily it was a weekend so no-one had to go outside. Carl was having a nap in a chair, Alex and Dave were racing against each other on the console connected to the TV with Porkins trying his best to follow along with what the two were doing, Robo was researching building failures to back up their engineering homework and Spidroth was playing some random mobile game.

“No, more potatoes please.” Carl muttered, lifting his hand up in front of himself.

“Do you chaps think we should tell him that he sleeptalks?” Porkins asked, as the game moved on to some cut scenes, “He might stop falling asleep where other people can hear him.”

“Na, it's entertaining.” Alex said, shoving the controller at Porkins and getting up to grab a snack from the kitchen, “Besides, if it's anything super embarrassing-”

A muffled scream was suddenly heard from a pillow, startling awake Carl and making Dave pause the game.

“Spidroth, are you okay?” Dave asked, looking up from their research.

“Did something bad happen?” Porkins asked.

“Did your father get let out of prison?” Alex asked.

“Did the professor shorten the homework date?” Robo asked before Alex looked at them and said,

“Dude, read the room.”

The screaming into a pillow went on for a few more seconds before Spidroth came up for air, red in the face.

“No, Yes, No and No, respectively.” She said, “My siblings are coming to visit.”

“Does that mean I can ask them for embarrassing stories about you?” Carl asked, smirking.

“They have their own place to stay, right?” Dave asked.

“Yeah, they are staying in the fancy hotel about five minutes out of town.”

“What? How do they afford that?” Porkins asked, “That place seems to only be there for rich parents visiting their children.”

Spidroth got up and stretched, “Well one of my brothers invests in crypto and the stock market and is actually good at it, unlike all the alpha, macho people you see online, so he's very well off.”

“Is your brother hot?”

“Do not try and sleep with my brother, Carl!” Spidroth said and paused, “either of them… or my sister.”

“Hey, I'm an equal opportunit-”

“That's enough.” Dave said, drawing the room’s attention back to Spidroth, “What is the problem though?”

“I haven't kept my siblings up to date on my college life.” Spidroth said.

“Which equates to?” Robo asked.

“My siblings still think Dave and I are dating.”

Carl burst out laughing, “Are you kidding me? Those six weeks were the best of my life.”

Dave went red in the face, “Carl, those six weeks were the most embarrassing six weeks of my life.”

“Dave, I care about you and will try to say this in the kindest way possible.” Porkins said, “It was a tractor crash trying to watch you and Spidroth date.”

“Hey, my girlfriend is the best at dating.” Alex defended.

“Alex, I watched Dave and Spidroth watch a romantic movie and by the end, they were so far away from each other that they were on opposite ends of the sofa with Spidroth literally sitting on the armrest.” Carl said as Dave groaned and winced at the reminder.

“Shut up,” Spidroth said, “at least I didn't buy eight jacket potatoes for breakfast on the way to my French class, eat them all and then throw up on my professor.”

“I was a first year and he deserved it.”

“Why do you not just tell them?” Robo asked, spinning in their chair to face Spidroth.

“Well, it just never came up and I” Spidroth tailed off, “I don't want to lose them.”

“Why would you lose them, they are your siblings?” Porkins said, “Siblings are supposed to be with each other through thick and thin.”

Spidroth stood up now, “It's just, my siblings really liked Dave when they visited me back when I was dating him and they said that he was sensible, mature, calm and you know,” She paused to look at Alex.

“Alex is as mad as a box of frogs.” Carl finished.

Alex looked down slightly, “We could always pretend not to be dating.”

“No, Alex, I like you and I care for you.” Spidroth said, grabbing her girlfriend's hand, “I just don't know how to tell them.”

“Done.” Robo said.

The five looked at Robo.

“What do you mean done?” Spidroth asked.

“As much as I like watching EastEnders with Porkins, this type of drama is not my favourite.” Robo began. “So I found your brothers’ and sister’s Instagram pages and messaged them privately with a bit of context about myself and took a picture of you and Alex holding hands just now as proof, along with several other pictures of you two doing dating stuff. Vioroth is happy for you, Slimoth sent me a bunch of happy emojis and some pride flags and Necroth is also happy but slightly concerned about me using his Instagram account to get his private number. You are welcome.”

Robo then got up, picked up their laptop and headed out of the dorm.

“Did they do that in less than a minute?” Dave asked.

“And Robo has been added to my list of people I will not annoy.” Carl said.

“Why?” Alex asked, titling her head slightly.

“Because if they can do that in less than a minute, imagine what they can do if you annoy them and then you need to use the internet.”

All five shuddered.
