Work Text:
The car came to a stop as Facty pulled into a parking spot. Their hand reached to the radio, turning it down, then turned to talk to you.
“Are you ready?” Facty’s smile was wide. You turned to face them too. “Yup!” You put on your jacket and gathered your things. You put your phone in your bag along with your wallet and chapstick. It was a bit chilly out, and your lips got chapped easily.
You got out of the car, smoothing down the front of your jacket. Facty walked around the car, meeting you on the other side. You grabbed their hand as you both walked to the entrance of the amusement park.
Once you got inside and payed, you saw many cool-looking rides. There were colorful roller coasters, tall swings, a mixer, and way more.
“Woah,” You looked over at your partner, who was staring up at a roller coaster with multiple loops. You get nervous at the sight of it. “I wanna go on that!” You guess it could be fun, but it looks pretty scary. Way to start your night… You would’ve liked to start with something calmer, but instead you lied, “Okay, that could be fun.”
“Yippee!” You saw how excited they were, and seeing them happy makes you happy, so you immediately felt better about it. Facty grabbed you by the hand and ran towards the line.
The line was kind of long, but it let about 30 people on at a time. You and Facty were likely to get on after the people who were on it currently. “I’m so excited, this looks pretty scary but it seems like fun!” Facty stares up in awe.
When it was your turn to get on, you put your bag on a shelf they had. Facty took off their glasses and handed them to you, and you carefully put them in your bag. Now you knew their eyesight was terrible without their glasses, so you kind of had to help them walk up the stairs buckle their seat.
Soon enough, a worker came over and tightened bars over your shoulders.
“_____, I can’t see like— anything. Plus it’s dark out…” Facty looked over at you. “Uh, well— you’re not missing out on much at the moment.” Right after you finished your sentence, the ride jerked forward. Facty let out a small yelp.
As the ride slowly accelerated up the hill, you felt nervous. You never really liked rides, but Facty really wanted to go. Plus it’s been a while since you’ve been to an amusement park.
When the ride finally reached the top, you looked over and saw Facty smiling. You began to smile back, but the ride dropped. Instead of smiling, you screamed. Facty screamed too, but theirs was completely different from yours. Yours was out of fear, theirs was out of fun.
~
Wretched sounds left your mouth as Facty held your hair back (If you don’t have long hair then they rubbed your back) as you threw up in the grass.
“I’m sorry, ____… You could’ve told me that you weren’t comfortable with going on that ride, then I could’ve chose a different one.” You shook your head.
“No, it’s okay, you were excited to go on it. It’s been a while, I didn’t know.” You coughed, then wiped your mouth. “I think I’m okay now.”
Facty patted your back. “Okay, do you need anything else?” Concern filled their face. You cleared your throat. “Probably a water.”
Facty insisted on purchasing the water, which made you feel terrible, but you immediately felt better. You guys sat down for a bit, so you could regain composure.
“Are you feeling alright? Do you need to go ho—“ You interrupted them. “No! Nono, I’m feeling great. I don’t need to go home.” You waved your hands in front of yourself, dismissing the idea of going home. You wanted to stay.
You two went on some more rides— that weren’t too crazy of course— with Facty repeatedly checking up on you. The amusement park was going to close in thirty minutes, so you just decided to leave now. Until Facty stopped in their tracks.
You looked over, then they ran off. You quickly walked after them. Luckily for you though, they were kind of hard to miss. You saw their blonde hair and bright red cargo pants standing at a booth with plushies hanging off of it. They were throwing ping pong balls into cups of water.
Why were they so eager to go over there? When you caught up, they turned around, holding a stuffed ladybug plush. They put their arms out, handing it to you.
“Here, I won this for you. I thought it would make you feel better. Sorry for running off like that.” You took it from them, examining it before pulling Facty into a hug, smiling wide.
“Thank you, Fact. I love it.” You squeezed their torso tighter, a muffled groan leaving them. They kissed your cheek, still held tight in your arms. You let go of them, their breathing a bit heavy. You guess you hadn’t realized you were squeezing them that tight.

Once Facty pulled into their usual parking spot at their apartment complex, they nudged you. You hadn’t realized that you were falling asleep.
“Hey, we’re back at my apartment.” They turned off the car and opened their door, and you did the same. They walked over to you and held your hand as you approached the main doors.
When you got inside the elevator, you leaned on their shoulder, sleepily. They put an arm around you, holding you steady. When the elevator dinged you both walked to their apartment door.
They took out their keys and unlocked it, holding the door open for you. You both walked down the hall towards Facty’s room, pushing the door open as you fell onto the bed. They followed after you, tucking you in and wrapping their arms around you as you fell fast asleep. They didn’t even bother taking their glasses off.
They kissed the top of your head, then closed their eyes. They nuzzled against you, grateful for all that they have. They looked at you on last time, noticing that you were hugging the ladybug plush they won you. They immediately smiled, pulling you closer.
