Chapter Text
"You know I'm impatient
So why would you leave me waiting outside the station
When it was like minus four degrees? And I
I get what you're saying
I just really don't wanna hear it right now
Can you shut up for like once in your life?"
-Pink-
Pink knew her girlfriend was unbeknownst to how truly loving relationships were like in Auradon and that meant she most certainly didn't understand Wonderland's dating customs. So, whenever Hazel was at study group with Max, the Smees and Felix, she would make treats or little gifts, basically anything she though Hazel would like, to make sure the girl knew she was loved because she knew her pirate deserved the best and that made her determined to prove it. But she also knew she couldn't rush her into things she wasn't ready for hence the small and simple but meaningful gestures.
One of the things pink loved most about her girlfriend was how she treated those close to her in her life. The pink haired girl had great admiration for the care she took to see them often, especially when it came to her brother: Harry Hook. Hazel mentioned him a lot and it was clear he was her favourite sibling. After the visits, pink would always wait for hazel at the dock to walk back to Auradon prep with her, but today she had gotten caught up in the school kitchen and was running late. She felt horrible of course. But was sure hazel would understand.
Grabbing her stuff (including her gift for hazel), she ran down to the docks but alas, all too late as Hazel was already there and seemed to have been waiting for a while, she felt even more awful when she realized it was -4 degrees out and hazel was shivering.
"Hazel! I'm so sorry I was in the kit-"
"Do you ever shut up?" Hazels voice rang in her ears like nails on a chalk board she felt numb. Hazel, her Hazel just said that! Mumbling another apology pink handed hazel the bag and turned on her heal to go back to the school feeling Hazel's presence behind her as she walked back.
Arriving at the school, pink took a natural left toward her dorm and when she didn't feel Hazels footsteps follow behind her, she suspected the pirate had had something go wrong on her trip. Little did she know, the older girl had been so consumed by guilt due to her out burst that she couldn't bear face her kind-hearted, care-free girlfriend.
It was 10pm at night when the text came through on Pink's phone.
Haze❤️🔥

Listen to me, I took your nice words of advice
About how you think I'm gonna die, lucky if I turned 33
Okay, so, yeah, I smoke like a chimney
I'm not skinny and I pull a Britney every other week
But cut me some slack
Who do you want me to be?
-Hazel-
Hazel hated lying to pink, the girl was so nice and caring and she ... dare she even say it.
Loved her.
No she couldn't, she couldn't love her because that wasn't right yet, not for pink. The girl deserved better.
Once a week, she would go to the library and read books on how to be in a healthy relationship and how to treat someone right because her princess deserved the best and she was determined to be that for her. So she couldn't love her yet, not until she removed that relationship from her brain because if she didn't she would become someone she didn't want to be, a person she used to know.
She was sat with max when it hit her today was Maeve's birthday: her ex that stopped her from being her girlfriend's world.
Instantly, her mind cast back to the final birthday of hers that they had been together for. Maeve had gotten her a dress. To anyone else it was a nice gesture but to Hazel it was far from. Maeve had been trying to force her into dresses for ages because they "suited her better" and Hazel had been listening - so desperate to please her while hating herself all the more.
Of course the second Maeve had left to let hazel get changed she had called max and in an effort to lighten the mood, max had asked if she wanted to sneak out and smoke later. Unknowingly to her her girlfriend had been listening in. After scheduling with max, ending the call and changing she exited the room to be met with a glare from her soon to be ex. She should have known really not to trust her but what made it worse was the following comment about how she would be lucky making it to 33 at the rate she is going. then looking down at hazel in the dress she had smirked and muttered "Maybe its worth changing, that doesn't exactly flatter you does it hon?"
That was just about it for Hazel but she held it in.
That was until dinner. After Maeve made another comment about her weight, Hazel decided that was it, standing up so abruptly that she sent the chair flying.
"No, that's it! I'm so done with you and your snide, cruel comments we are over. I want your stuff out of my house tomorrow."
Her outburst silenced the whole restaurant but only to be met with the reply of:
"Awww, come on babe you don't really mean that this is just another temper tantrum. Lets get you home."
"No, Maeve I mean it this time I'm so done with you and your bullshit."
She turned and left the restaurant immediately, ringing Max to meet her at her house where he did.
