Work Text:
Clark was always tuned in to that heartbeat, he'd become so used to the sound, it didn't even register that it was closer than it ought to be.
It was late. Late enough that his parents had bid him goodnight and gone upstairs. He sat at the kitchen table, a mug of tea in his hands, feeling alone.
A car turned onto their driveway and Clark frowned. He got up and waited on the porch.
"What are you doing here, Bruce?"
"I came to see you."
"Why?"
"I missed you."
"I missed you, too."
Bruce stepped forward and kissed him.
