The feeling, this…desire, this hungry, insatiable want, had crept up on her, slotting in so naturally beside her inborn love for him, she didn't notice the change until one morning she woke up with his sleeping face so close to hers, and she wanted to kiss him.
She'd never felt anything like it. An urge so intense it's as if her mind was shouting at her, frighteningly loud in the muted morning. She hadn't thought much about kissing before—she didn't look at boys, and she had yet to experience her first crush. Frank gave her everything she needed, there was never a reason to go searching for anything else. But she knew in that moment, as she watched his eyes move beneath his eyelids, felt the warmth of his breath fan over her face, that she thought wrong. It wasn't that she'd never had a crush, but that she had one devoted, lifelong crush on her brother.
