Chapter Text
King Alan (Yup, just Alan): King of Abodon. He has four sons (Twins Adrastus and Ambrose, and a second set of twins, Erebus and Anastasios). He is estranged from one of them (Adrastus), strained with two (Ambrose and Erebus), and actually has a good relationship with one (Anastasios).
Starting as a tyrant king, he mellowed out while his youngest set of twins were still young, but it was too late to fix his fractured relationship with his eldest sons (Dark just hates Alan because he's wildly independent and hates rules and regulations and all the having to be "proper" and "polite").
Victim (Adrastus): Of ancient Greek origin. Means "inescapable," "one who cannot be escaped," or "not inclined to run away / should not run." The irony is indeed intentional.
Crown Prince of Abodon, Adrastus is a bright but introverted royal. Sensitive and sometimes even dramatic, he enjoys building things and doing mundane tasks (much to the chagrin of his servants, who are literally hired to do things for him…).
Often compared to his physically stronger twin as the lesser fighter and "weak," his relationship with Ambrose is understandably strained. They grew up always trying to one-up each other for their father's approval while exchanging passive-aggressive attacks (verbal or literal attacks).
The Chosen One (Ambrose): Greek and Latin in origin, meaning "Immortal" or "Divine."
Second-born Prince of Abodon by nine minutes, Ambrose is the more stoic of the two, having an RBF and generally commanding respect and awe by just being in the room. An accomplished fighter as well, Ambrose is near perfectly suited to being a war general.
His interests at first are mostly fighting and training for battle, but he eventually picks up other hobbies that he refuses to tell anyone about, like whittling (He's actually made some very nice carvings), cooking (Not that he's good at it, but he enjoys trying to cook anyway), and watching sunsets (If you haven't caught that this is one long AvM Beta reference by now, you should know now XD)
The Dark Lord (Erebus): In Greek Mythology, Erebus is a primordial deity who personifies this deep, enveloping darkness. Ha, ha. Born directly out of Chaos (As he should be!).
Chaos gremlin (Sibling nickname "Ere"). The guy loves pranks, arson, and anarchy. Despite having "Good Dad Alan," Erebus chooses to cause problems and be a menace because he overall hates royal life. He looks up to Ambrose and regularly spars with him for fun. Just to mess with Ambrose, though, Erebus will call him "Bro" as a nickname. ("Get it? Bro? Cause you're Ambrose, and you're my brother??" "Ha ha, so funny, Ere…")
As for Anastasios, oh boy… Erebus antagonizes him daily because "You make it too easy!" Too bad the baby of the family gets the all-powerful "DAAAAAAD!!!" card…
TSC/Orange (Anastasios): Means "resurrection," "rebirth," or "rising up" in Greek.
Nickname: "Theo" (made up on the spot when he was disguised, but it stuck because he hates his actual name). He is the fourth in line for the throne but doesn't particularly care about that fact. Laid-back, curious, thoughtful, and creative, he spends most of his days painting or trying to get his twin, Erebus, to stop causing trouble for 24 hours straight. For being the youngest, he's extremely mature. Buuuuut, he is still the baby, and he will absolutely milk that fact for all it's worth.
In short, he's the Golden Child who neither ran from the crown nor keeps trying to light the butler's pants on fire.
The age gap between the sets of twins is eight years, based on the actual age gap between Victim and TSC/Orange. When the twins cross paths with the royal color gang, they will be 20, making Ambrose and Adrastus 28.
