There are some things Patrick thinks a person should be allowed to do without an audience, and spending twenty minutes on a bathroom floor discovering that having nothing left to throw up does not stop his stomach from making a determined effort is fairly high on the list. Pete disagrees, mostly because Pete disagrees with Patrick as a matter of principle, but also because he’s decided that a laptop and access to WebMD have finally given him the medical authority he’s always deserved.
By the time Patrick realises Pete genuinely has no intention of leaving, he’s too tired to keep arguing and far too in love with him to pretend he doesn’t want him there.
