Chapter Text
The stupid birds chirped loudly, practically mocking Azula as she made her way through the forsaken vibrant forest, feeling humiliated. How stupid was she? Of course those good for nothing traitors would end up just leaving her behind!
Just- “WORTHLESS! All of them!” She shouted, kicking a pebble hard enough to make a small branch fall from a tree, almost hitting her in the head. Keyword, almost, as she most definitely easily burned it to a crisp with her amazing and totally awesome fire bending. Yeah. Didn’t leave a bruise ever so slightly above her eye brow. No clue what you’re talking about!!!
“Whatever. I don’t need them, they were to soft anyway, caring to much about their little friend who got themself captured. What I need is someone who isn’t soft, who is strong and loyal, not like them.” She muttered to herself as she began walking by a quiet stream to her right, watching as a group of small fishes practically floated down the stream.
They had seemed so happy, that group of betrayers. Just… sitting in their little circle, laughing, sharing jokes, memories, but forgetting everything Azula did for the idiots. All of that, just for them to run off to save their idiot friend. All of that, just for them to leave Azula in the dust from their little stupid and utterly ridiculous group. Quickly frying every last one of the idiotically happy fishes, she began walking at a faster pace, in hopes of seeing something to let her anger out on.
This powerful tyrant went on for hours as she continued going uphill next to the stream, knocking down trees and obliterating beaver dams as she went. In rage, she’s had been about to completely destroy a perfect fallen tree for attacking, when a small glint of gold out of all things had caught her eye.
“Hm?” She swiftly turned towards the direction of the glint, and saw something… peculiar to say the least.
A small trail of golden… something, whatever on earth the liquid was, leading down the gentle stream slowly inched towards the log. It curled in ways that Azula felt was unnatural and just… unsettling, as if the gold substance was just downright wrong.
But, if Azula is anything, it’s dangerously curious(well, maybe destructive and manipulative come first but hush), so no matter how strangely creepy she felt the trail to be, she began to follow it up stream. It took only mere minutes to find a dam housing the source of the gold trail. After burning and removing all the annoying sticks from the pathetic pile, she finally saw the source of the trail.
A man. A man whose arm, quite literally, bleeds gold. He clearly seemed to be alive, just passed out, considering he slightly twitched every few seconds. It surprised Azula that he was alive though, considering the wound on his arm was deep and the strange gold blood stained his, very strange clothes, completely around the injured area.
Despite the odd choice of wardrobe, the man seemed to have an unsettling but powerful presence unlike she’s seen before.
And then it clicked in Azulas head.
She needed someone powerful, someone who was loyal, maybe because they owed her something, or maybe a different reason. She needed a new ally.
“And what better way to make a new ally,” She said as a malicious grin grew on her face.
“Then to have them owe you their life.”
