Chapter Text
The grand return of Sanguinius and Magnus was not going to be soon. They could not leave Prospero for a time, having to integrate the human and Kelenken populations first, and particularly the second they could not delegate. Though they had plenty seconds, they were too pivotal to be replaced for this matter.
Luckily, Angron needed time to recover as well, and they could hardly have the great feasts without one of their number – or their full number with one looking like he was perpetually drunk. While his full recovery would take years, it likely would not take that long to get him functioning.
But he was helpless, for a Primarch, at least for a time. He needed support to walk, to lean onto someone to help with his balance, though at least his legs were strong enough to mostly hold him. He also still needed to be with at least one telepath, who was to monitor his mind to make sure everything was moving in there as it should.
“Stuck.” The Red Angel of Nuceria softly stated. He’d gone to one of the more secluded gardens throughout Tizca, one of those only the Thousand Sons had long been allowed to enter, though the Blood Angels had gotten leave for several too. But no one had considered that the Kelenken would only stop at doors, and anything open air was fair game. The downside of birds, perhaps. And while he’d heard they were politely staying out of baseline-gardens they’d been requested to not enter, the gardens of the Legions had not yet been barred to them.
“Yeah.” The delicate female who’d been introduced as Tiya was currently the telepath attending him. She had dodged what was now trapping him on the grass. He’d laid down, to bask in the warm sunlight without having to fight the Nails, only to find that Mortarion was not alone in suffering puff-ball infestations. Most of the hatchling-Kelenken had the long legs of adulthood, but only a few also had the elongated necks… but they’d more or less swarmed him when a creche-flock had entered the garden.
Formally, he could budge them, he had enough strength and muscle control for that even now, if only because he could roll over and force them away that way. But it was kind of nice to just… be covered in tiny things that trusted one enough to do so.
The two adult Kelenken that were attending this group of hatchlings chattered in amusement, nesting underneath the tree the winged female was sitting in.
“How long…?” He wondered, because he’d rather not find out if Primarchs could get sunburned.
“However long they feel like it… or you let them.” She informed him helpfully, looking down at the two massive birds. “It’s still a good while until foodtime.”
“Ah…” He closed his eyes, letting himself doze for a while.
“Angron?” He had to open them again when another voice sounded above him. Magnus’ large wings arched behind him, shielding them both from the sun. “Mind if we have your check-up here, since you are trapped?”
“Sure.” The Psyker sat down beside him, carefully touching his bare skin with his fingertips. He wondered a bit. “Why… do this?”
“We’re brothers.” He remembered plenty of times when that had not meant anything at all between all Primarchs. He somehow doubted Magnus was the one who’d do things out of the goodness of his heart. “Would it help if I demanded payment?” Prospero’s Primarch grinned down on him.
“Almost.” He admitted.
“Fine, give me your title.” He blinked at that answer. “Don’t you agree I would be a far better Red Angel these days?” Red wings spread wide, beating the air once.
Angron snorted. “We can… discuss... that.” He conceded.
“I’ll keep you to that.” His host reached out, picking up one of the hatchlings. From what he’d seen, Magnus and Sanguinius were the only ones who could outright do that.
