You stare at Ianthe’s lips as she sleeps. You don’t know why you’re here, the day that Gideon stormed out of your apartment, but here you are. It doesn’t matter, you’re single. This wasn’t a break-up, it was just a bad friend thing. Yes, Gideon was a bad friend. She was all you had back home but now that you’re free, you have much more. You don’t have to cling to her.
You try to ignore the fact that you want to cling to her. That hurts so much that you’d rather just ignore it, forget that she ever existed.
