Summary
The being that Mellow called Guardian Angel had guided the boy through god for an interminable amount of time, an innumerable number of times. Mellow’s adventure ended definitively thrice, but the third time had been the terrible ending. And the one responsible for steering Mellow’s path to the Surgeon and his ritual realized their mistake too late. The pain of what their lust for knowledge had wrought transformed their entire being, even as they desperately prayed for another chance to start the boy’s adventure over.
But it was not to be. The ritual proceeded and the Guardian died. The Surgeon died. And Mellow died.

Yet, against all odds, despite that happening. Begin anew, anyway. Enter: A boy named Mellow sat alone in his room. He browsed a handful of pages of a scribbled note that he couldn’t read glued to a rug on the floor. He didn’t think about or remember more than the moment he was in. But, for whatever reason, it was…odd that he didn’t feel anything compelling him to do or try anything else. Shouldn’t someone or something be there helping him from another place, whether he could see them or not?
(And, oh, they would be. But things could never be that simple.)
