Summary
In a society where humans and mutants coexist, powers are legal—using them on another person without consent or lawful authority...isn’t.
Lieutenant Rogue Darkholme of Scott Summers’s Special Homicide Unit has built her life around the law while spending three years hiding her son from Remy LeBeau, an omega-level mutant and the new head of the LeBeau crime family—a young man she never should have fallen for.
After winning the criminal war that once drove his family from the city, Remy returns. When he discovers the truth, he does the one thing Rogue never saw coming: he walks into her system and files for custody.
The battle over their child is toxic, public, and tangled up with a love neither of them has managed to let go of.
Meanwhile, strange things keep happening around the little boy they’re fighting over. Broken objects become whole. Missing pieces return. And neither parent understands what their child is becoming.
