Summary
At twenty-four, you’ve gotten pretty good at being alone.
Your family is still around, technically. You have a job, a home, a routine, and medication that helps you manage the bad days. You’ve learned to smile, say “I’m fine,” and keep moving.
So when the barrier between humans and monsters finally falls, you sign up for the Human-Monster Integration Program.
Maybe you need a change. Maybe you’re tired of merely existing.
You don’t expect much from the Monster District. You certainly don’t expect a community that welcomes you with open arms.
For the first time, people notice when you’re missing. They ask about your day. They save you a seat. They make room for you without asking what you can give in return.
And then there’s Sans.
A lazy, sarcastic skeleton who somehow sees through your carefully practiced “I’m fine.”
You never expected to find a home among monsters.
You never expected to find someone who makes you want to stay.
And you never expected to discover that the life you’ve been surviving might finally become a life worth keeping.
