   Summary

   Laughter came from the living room, where Ilya and his mother were watching a movie. He loved to hear Ilya laugh.  It was one of his favorite sounds in the world.  

   He would rather be in there with them, watching whatever they’d chosen, even if he’s never heard of it and wouldn’t like it at all, which was the usual when it came to Ilya’s taste in movies.  

   But his mom wanted his decision by tonight so she could follow up on the offer tomorrow morning.  

   So Shane got to be boring.  Again.
