Look at what you've done

Summary:

Sharp turns around before Jude can see his eyes, already regretting this. He walks back toward Flow, blinking rapidly as tears begin to well up in his eyes.

'Don't cry. Don't fucking cry, Sharp.'

Sharp realizes something.

He likes Jude...

No, he loves Jude.

Work Text:

“Don’t you think it’s time to wrap it up?” Flowtives asks, tossing Sharp a towel.

“Uhm… no. Not yet,” Sharp replies under his breath. “At least until the end of the semester.”

And of course, Flow smirks at that.

“Aww. Lover boy actually fell for his little Judey?” He playfully smacks Sharp on the back, wearing the most shit eating grin.

“First of all, fuck you. Secondly, I don’t like Jude,” Sharp snaps, taking a long sip of his water. “It’s still about the bet.”

He puts down the bottle and grabs the spare set of clothes he had in his locker for after the match.

“Well, the bet was to date him, then break his heart. You’ve got the first part down, so why not just finish what you started?”

“I know, Flow. It’s just…” Sharp pauses.

Great. He has no excuse. Now Flow’s going to think he’s actually taking the relationship seriously.

“If you do it now, I’ll double the money. Three hundred bucks.”

“Bet.”

Not even bothering to change from his sweaty uniform, Sharp grabs Flow by the wrist and drags him out of the locker room toward the school campus, determined to end this whole thing for good and claim his sweet, sweet cash.

__________

Sharp finds Jude and lets go of Flow's wrist. He's standing near the edge of campus, coffee in hand, looking around as if searching for someone.

Then, Jude spots Sharp. His face immediately lights up.

“There you are!”

He walks closer to Sharp and intertwines their free fingers together

“I went to the cafe nearby,” Jude says, holding out the cup. “I remembered you like black coffee, so I–”

“Come here.” Sharp cuts him up.
Before Jude can ask why, Sharp grabs his arm and pulls him behind the nearest wall.

He blinks at him, dumbfounded. "Sharp?”

“..."

"You're being weird, Sharp. What happened?" Jude awkwardly laughs, pulling aways from Sharpness' grip and nearly spilling the pitch black coffee

“I never actually liked you.” Sharp says. His voice came out colder than he'd like.

Jude's smile disappears.

“What?”

“You heard me.” Sharp forces himself to keep looking at Jude, while internally tearing up. He doesn't like Jude. He has to put and end to this play.

“This whole thing has been a waste of my time. I don't want to do this anymore.”

And Jude goes completely still.

“You can't be serious–” “I am!”

Silence

Jude just stares at him.

Then he lets out a quite 'Oh.'

That's it. Just oh. Somehow, that hurts Sharp more than anything else Jude could've done.

So, he looks away.

“And I don't need your coffee.”

He snatches the cup from Jude's hand and throws it, the cup hitting the floor with a loud thud.

___________

Behind him, Jude hasn't moved. His expression is blank, fingers twitching around nothing.

He can still hear Sharp's voice, but the words don't seem to make sense anymore.

"I never actually liked you."

His ears begin to ring loudly, too loud.
The edges of his vision blur, dark spots blooming across it.

All he can do is quietly reache for his phone, trembling thumb pressing on the first contact on his screen.

Boomie.

He sends him this location. That's all. That's all he can manage.

Another black spot appears in his vision. Then another. The buzzing only grows louder.

____________

Sharp couldn't resist the urge. He turns around, catching a glimpse of Jude's phone in his hand.

Sharp's stomach twists. 'He's already checking his phone?'

His chest tightens. Maybe Jude really didn't care. Maybe Jude had been playing him this whole time.

The thought should make him feel better. It makes him feel sick instead.

Flow holds out an envelope. “Three hundred.” he whispers.

Sharp snatches it from his hand. “Thanks.” the money makes him feel even more nauseous.

Sharp's eyes betray him, releasing nearly a waterfall of tears. He wipes his eyes with his sleeve, but to no avail. The tears won't stop coming out.

Flow doesn't say anything. All he can do is pat Sharp's back silently.

His gaze shifts between Sharp and Jude, not sure on what to do

Then, Boomie arrives, Parker trailing behind.

_____________

"Jude!" Parker shouts as he jumps and wraps his arms around Jude's body. Jude isn't replaying, but he felt the shorter man's body lean and press into him. Great, he's on the verge of blacking out...

"Jude. Judey.. Are you with us?" Boomie puts a hesitant hand on Jude's shoulder, his other hand gently cupping the other's cheek.

Boomie isn't as close to Jude as Parker is, but he trusted him enough to reach out to him first. Jude is barely conscious in Parker's arms.

He turns around to see two figures. Flowtives, and a very stiff Sharpness, likely sobbing– why would he, though? Isn't he the one to cause the whole thing? He curses Sharpness under his breath.

Insolent, selfish fool. He gets Jude, and that's what he does to him? Dump him like trash then play victim?

Boomie hates, no, loathes Sharpness with all his heart. It should've been him to stand by Jude's side, to hold him in his arms, to shower him in love and stay with him forever.

He envies Sharp.

But now, maybe he has a chance?

Tsk.

Who is he kidding? Even so, he knows Jude loves sharp with all his heart– why'd he be in this state if he didn't?

'Focus, you idiot.' he scolds himself. That's not the time to think about... that.

Right now, he has to be a good 'friend' and comfort the trembling boy. Boomie smiles bitterly to himself as he continues to cup Jude's cheek and sooth him while in Parker's embrace.

__________

Sharp's grip tightens around the money, eyes red and puffy from crying. He refuses to look back. Flowtives notices. Of course he does. He's the reason his bestfriend is this devastated.

Sharp was never good with his emotions, and so Flowtives has alwyas been the one to knock sense into him.

But look what has he done now!

'I'm so fucking sorry sharp.' he says to himself, not daring to frustrate The blond more than he already is.

He looks back. Jude's body lays limp, leaning on parker who has his arms tightly wrapped around him.

Boomie is staring. His eyes glaring daggers at both him and Sharp, full of spite and hatred.

'Shit.' he murmurs 'i fucked up.'
