pre-cecil/carlos, cecil is in a really unhealthy relationship with someone that's emotionally and physically (and sexually too if you want) abusive. eventually it ends, and cecil starts dating carlos.
but his previous boyfriend gave him a really screwed up idea of what relationships are like. so he acts really jumpy around carlos, expects punishment, etc.
