“Did I do well today, hyung?” Intak asks, and it sounds like a prayer, quieter than he’d intended.
Jiung laughs, loud and sudden, and the spell breaks. Or it reinvents itself, no longer a hushed and reverent atmosphere for the man who is building Intak’s career, but a joyful one. It’s its own kind of magic, being able to share this much happiness with one other person. Intak’s head slumps back against his seat, but he stays turned so he can watch Jiung.
