Chapter Text
You ran as fast as you could, just now running from a scene you caused. Solely because you robbed food from a financially unstable family? Like anyone would care about you having nothing, hell, even good clothes.
Panting with your heart pounding against your chest, you turn to the alleyway you technically live in. You don't have any shelter, food, especially anyone to help you with your miserable life.
"Oh my gosh, again?" You yell out loud as you walk, the jacket you found was gone... again. It's the third time one of your survival utilities are took away. It was most likely lost clothing of a child due to how small it is. Can't anyone have at least a tad empathy?
Who cares, you have food now. Just some lukewarm pasta and chicken. You knew this was wrong, stealing is a crime, you're fully aware. But no one is assisting you. You have been kicked out of houses, beaten up, have stuff stolen (although we can't say you really had anything in the first place). Then? You just did something else. Supposedly as bad as all of those combined. You hid under the shadows produced by the wall behind you and ate in peace.
The pasta didn't taste good and the chicken was dry. Either way, you accepted it and was grateful for this. You have no other resources in general so this was a lifesaver.
It's almost night and you haven't finished the miniature meal you illegaly borrowed. You're still hungry, but you wouldn't have anything tomorrow.
"I'll just save it.." You murmured under your breath, having no choice but to hide it. But how? There's nothing around but trash. Unless...
"No.." You replied internally, the thought of stealing something again intruded your mind. You can't ruin your reputation, at least, ruin it more. You never had malicious ideas or intentions cross your mind, all you want is a life. A good one. Pondering, you properly tossed the plate of half eaten pasta next to you, careful not to stain it with a grotesque material from the ground. As you were sitting against the dirty, damp wall, you felt a burning sensation on your legs. You quickly glanced at it and noticed you bruised it. Disregarding the pain, you were exhausted. Being here exhausted you overall, since everyone took their precious time ignoring the inadequacy, which is you. The moonlight helped with your vision, for some reason, you weren’t asleep despite the fatigue lingering. As you opened your eyes, your gaze landed on a poster. It was far away but you managed to read what was on it. About this.. Kamishiro Rui? You've heard of him, all the rumors that he's a witch or something. Right now, you were very inquisitive to know any kind of information about him. His existence was unbeknownst to you. Until your eyes couldn't handle it anymore, nor your body, you hurriedly went unconscious. You slept knowing you ruined your own life.
