Summary
Pandemonium had never stirred particularly warm or strong feelings in him. A dead-end capital overflowing with aristocracy and illegal refugees from all the Circles of Hell, stuck in a state of wretched stagnation.
Purgatory was a different story – a neutral buffer zone with virtually no stereotypical black-and-white divide, even if the demons working there could be counted on the fingers of two hands. That’s where he fled, getting far away from the infernal way of life and his family's sky-high expectations.
