“So, this is your room,” said Zooble, looking around curiously. “Yeah,” said Gangle, fidgeting nervously with her ribbons like fingers. “Your drawings are really awesome,” said Zooble, looking in amazement at the pencil drawing in Gangle’s sketchbook.
It was a drawing of Zooble sitting on the couch and talking to Pomni. The drawing was so detailed that Zooble thought at first it was a photo. “That’s amazing,” Zooble said, their voice full of admiration. “How long did it take you to draw that?”
“Oh, for this?” Gangle asked, sitting down next to Zooble on the bed. She looked at the drawing and thought for a moment. “I don’t know. I started over so many times that at some point I just stopped paying attention to it,” Gangle admitted, smiling shyly at their partner.
Gangle was so talented, so Zooble didn’t understand why she always downplayed her talents like that. Gently, they reached for Gangle’s masked face and kissed it softly.
They were proud to have Gangle as a partner. They never would have thought they’d one day describe being trapped here in this amazing digital circus as pleasant.
Of course, not everything had been as easy as it was now. It had taken time for them to accept and learn to love this crazy body, to put up with Jax’s asshole behavior, and to cope with Cain’s breakdown, but Gangle had always been there.
Thanks to her alone, even those difficult times had been bearable.
A noise made the two lovers stop.
“Was that Ragatha’s voice?” Zoogle asked, and Gangle gave them a funny look. “Do you want me to stop and check?”
“God, no, keep going.”
