Chapter Text

The day had started off in the worst way possible, with an early morning housewarden meeting.

For some reason or another Crowley had decided that whatever he was about to drone on about just couldn’t wait until later in the day. Despite the circumstances, each dorm leader had come in the usual order.

Riddle arrived first, the least effected by the meeting time as he was ready for his day by five-thirty on the dot no matter what. Azul came shortly after as always–less accustomed to the time but determined to be punctual despite that. Vil came next—on time and noticeably irritated, but no less gorgeous. The first(s) to come late were Kalim and Lilia (who was only there because, in all his “genius”, Crowley had forgotten to inform Malleus of the meeting. Luckily Kalim had mentioned the meeting during a hallway talk with Lilia, shortly after yelping at the fact he got distracted and was going to be late.) Next was Leona, who didn’t even bother to change out of his pajamas and almost immediately fell asleep on the small couch in the corner of Crowley’s office (which earned several comments from Riddle and Vil). Then there was Idia, who wasn’t permitted to join via tablet and was practically shaking as he entered the room and positioned himself as far away from everyone as possible. Lastly, Yuu, who Crowley had borderline run out the room to go fetch because he remembered they were a housewarden on a technicality (which was really only fair considering they had helped with a shocking three separate overblots with not a drop of magic).

“Ah, I see we’re all here,” Crowley placed his hands on his hips triumphantly, “I’m happy to see such lovely faces!”

“Just tell us what you want,” Leona said from the couch, adding a mumbled “damn bird” under his breath.

Yuu raised their hand slightly, “is this about,” they gestured vaguely towards the trio of overbloters, “y’know?”

“Unless you’re referring to my plans to subtly change the layout of Heartslabyul’s garden, then nope!”

The room had had gone quiet.

“You…you can not be serious,” Azul spoke up first, “you brought us here to talk about garden layouts?”

“Well, amongst other things,” Crowley waved a hand dismissively, “like getting a consensus on whether I should add a sign in sheet to the library.”

The room quickly devolved into a mess of complaints and insults towards the headmage, which then further devolved into general arguing between the housewardens (+Yuu).

Crowley began regretting having this meeting so early, maybe he should’ve went with six instead of five-forty.

Mallnoe’s day couldn’t be going better!

First off, her pleas to the company in charge of shipping her vip pass to her oshi’s meet and greet had actually worked, instead of coming too late like they said it would, it came early! Then the free con ticket she won from a—official! She’s not that dumb—giveaway actually came, meaning she didn’t have to pay for one last minute at like double the usual price.

Safe to say, she was on cloud nine—all she needed was to tell Crowley she was leaving campus. She had already prepped by doing three days worth of work for each of the classes she was missing in advance, and with her grades she had enough good will for each professor to overlook the absences.

“What’s got you so happy, Weirdo?”

“Nice try Sebastian!” She seemed to smile even wider, “nothing can bring down my mood today.”

“Yeah,” he started walking next to her, leaning an arm on the top of her head, “why’s that?”

Mallnoe pulled out her pass and ticket with an animated flare, “BAM! I’ve maxed out my luck for the next like thirty years, so I’m basking in in it while I still can!”

“You’re kidding, they actually came,” Sebastian smiled down at her, ruffling her blue flaming hair, “Noe’s moving up in the world!”

“Fuck yeah I am!” She placed the item back in her pocket, continuing her way to the headmage’s office, “so where’re you headed?”

“Library,” he waved a thick, leather-bound book, “but this is late, so I’m stalling a bit before I get chewed out.”

“Here I was thinking you were finally taking your job as my ward seriously.”

“Dude, if I took my job seriously I’d be Loe’s ward.”

Noe snickered slightly, “so what’s it about?”

“Something about time travel, but I just skimmed it.”

“That sounds pretty cool actually,” she paused to knock on the office door, “remind me to check that out when I get back.”

He tapped the book against her head playfully, ”rodger tha-“

A sudden flash of light had paused his train of thought.

“…You saw that too, right?”

“Yeah,” she looked around carefully, “I mean, nothing seems to have changed.”

“This school just keeps getting weirder, doesn’t it?”

Mallnoe giggled as she grabbed the doorknob, opening the door while waving a hand in the air.

“Hey, Crowley! I’m heading ou—”

Instead of (just) the headmage, Mallnoe and Sebastian were greeted to a flurry of shouts from various (weirdly familiar) people and a very sad looking Crowley.

Unfortunately, her shout brought everyone’s attention to the duo, leading to a deafening silence.

.

.

.

“Who…who the fuck are you?”

“Leona, you could’ve said that a bit less crudely,” Vil chided, but didn’t look away from the duo.

“Leona,” Sebastian whispered under his breath, what would he be doing here?

“Did…did you change the office?” Mallnoe, ever distracted, had gestured around the room, “looks a little different.”

Crowley looked from the duo to the book, and back to the duo again, before shooting up from his seat with a triumphant clap of the hands.

“AH! It seems our guests are from the future. Truly , I’m too clever! You all should be lucky to have such an observant headmage.”

“Oh for fucks sake!” Sebastian flopped down onto one of the free chairs by the door, “this school just can’t let me have a moment of peace can it?”

More silence followed before Mallnoe had screeched out a “MY MEET AND GREET!”

━ ⋅𖥔⋅ ━━❀━━ ⋅𖥔⋅ ━

It took a couple minutes for the (past? Present?) housewardens to speak again, instead choosing to take in the two…guest’s appearances.

The girl (who was referred to as Noe during a conversation between the two after her meltdown about something involving oshis and con tickets) was easy to figure out. From the deathly pale skin and flaming blue hair that reached slightly above the shoulder, bangs held the side by an assortment of clips, to the bright yellow eyes and cartoony voice and way of talking; she was related to Idia in some way (though Lilia thought she looked familiar in a way he couldn’t quite place yet).

The boy, Sebastian apparently, was harder to place. He was tall with cool-sienna colored skin, his face and neck (seemingly) painted white to resemble a skeleton. Medium length, light green (almost white) hair was slightly pushed back, a couple of loose curls framing his face—a pair of circle sunglasses perched on top of his head. He had a Diasomnia uniform on, different than Noe’s Ignihyde one (he was also familiar to Lilia, who was really racking his brain to figure out why).

Riddle spoke first.

“Alright,” he pointed a finger between the two, “…Noe here is clearly related to Shroud, so its safe to say you’re both related to us in some way?”

Sebastian let out a chuckle, “yup!”

“Why don’t you introduce yourselves!” Crowley snapped his fingers, “its no telling how long you’ll be here, might as well get familiar.”

Mallnoe excitedly waved a hand.

“I’m Mallnoe! I turned 18 a bit ago, I’m a 2nd year and housewarden of Ignihyde!”

“And your relation to Idia,” Riddle asked.

“Oh, he’s my dad.”

.

.

.

“Now how the fuck did Radish Sprout pull anyone?”

“I’d scold you but I’m also confused,” Vil had the same look of confusion as everyone else.

“Hey, c’mon he’s not that ba-“she paused, “wait the og third years are here, so…what month is it?”

“November?”

“Holy shit, nevermind chat. He’s not even at his worst yet, that dweeb can get made fun of lol.”

Idia, who had been noticeably quite the whole time, finally spoke up.

“So, like do…who’s your other…parent?”

Sebastian had almost instantly covered her mouth, giggling gleefully, “guess!”

“We don’t have time for this!” Riddle was getting impatient.

The boy had continued to giggle as he took a step forward.

“I’m Sebastian, third year and vice housewarden of Diasomnia. I’m 19 and one of Sebek’s kids.”

“SEBEK,” Lilia shouted immediately, “that’s who you reminded me of!”

The room erupted into conversation between the two groups, before there was another interruption at the door.

“Headmage can you please keep your interns in check–“

A girl walked in, holding the wrists of two (seemingly) younger teens, one of which holding several pieces of crumbled paper.

“Oooooh, that’s where those pages went,” Sebastian beamed at the trio before realization set in, “…oh.”

.

.

.

Crowley was really regretting this meeting, all his students were so much more volatile in the morning, considering the new round of shouting that happened.

Notes:

Idk if anyone cares, but ill put like a pronunciation guide down here! ♪(´ε`*)

○Sebastian — doesn't really matter, but i imagined seb- instead of sab- in the beginning

○Mallnoe — Mal - no - aye

○Erm spoiler i guess, but "Loe" is short for Malloe — Mal - oh - e ( vowel sound)

Other Notes!

-Sebastian is the only sebskully kid whose name doesn't reference egyptian mythology because, while not any less apart of the family, I imagine hes the least "fae-like" of his siblings and wanted to hint at that! (pls note that that has nothing to do with the canon/lore reason behind the name, just the writing one)

-if im being honest I have no real reason behind mallnoe and malloe's names, I just thought they were neat but the public is allowed to come up with their own interpretations

-Malleus, Silver, and Sebek all have three kids, because i like the idea of the three still being close enough for eachother's personalities to rub off on each other's kids.

-I considered (and am still considering, honestly) the idea of this fic including MalleusxIdiaxYuu, so if you notice similarities between how I characterize yuu and the mallidia kids that's why!

-Yall are just gonna have to hear me out on RookNeige'nya
