Flufftober 2026 01: “This is So Romantic.” - “You're So Weird.”

Summary:

You're not quite prepared to walk home through a storm. For a moment, Toph seems more than willing to boot you into it...

Based on, but not part of my GILF Toph series. [Warning: explicit]

Work Text:

It's the end of the day, and you're standing on the precipice of what counts as Toph's home. You're actually pretty sure the boundaries change depending on her mood, but your gut feeling says you're definitely on the edge. More importantly, the woman herself stands beside you, silent, eyes closed as you look out at the swamp proper.

“Gonna be a long walk home,” you point out.

“Yup,” she responds, barely a shrug accompanying the word. “Probably want to head out soon as possible, avoid the dark.”

“It's already pretty close to dark,” you half-mumble, only for her to sigh.

“I hear you,” she laments, finally opening her dull, grey eyes. Functionally no difference for her. Though, you've told her a fair few times she is prettier when she shows them. “Fine. Want to stay the night, you baby?”

“You're so romantic when you want to be.”

Grouch, snap and complains all she likes, she's cute when her cheeks turn a shade of pink. “Don't make this weird.”

As if regularly wandering the swamp in hopes of bunking with the legendary Toph Beifong isn't already weird enough. You're almost certain most people would balk at the age difference alone.

“So, where's the spare bed?” you ask, glad you won't be hiking again this day.

Toph, ever the lady, snorts. “Spare?” Shaking her head as she leaves your side, a suspicious pep in her step. “Sorry kiddo, you're gonna have to sleep with me!”

“You are being romantic!”

A growl as she stomps her foot, the ground shaking and knocking you forward.

Only for her to swoop in and stop you from falling face-first into the dirt.

“Weirdo,” she sighs. “Let's go to bed.”

Just to sleep, nothing more.
