Work Text:
You feel ridiculous in this new suit. The dark shades even indoors and earpiece connected to nothing doesn't exactly help. It doesn't matter, though, not really. After all, you're looking at the rare and beautiful smile of Mira, who can't help but lean in and correct your collar.
“It looks good,” she notes, so easily slipping back into that neutral, uninterested expression of hers. It was nice while it lasted, at least.
“Thanks,” you half-mumble your response. “I still don't think I'm cut out for security work.”
“You're not,” she confirms, almost callously so. “Remember, you're just pretending to hang around with me. Besides, the girls and I can handle ourselves.”
“Really?” you can't help but ask, a little playfulness returning to you. “I've seen your fans.”
“Right, yes,” Mira's hand retreats, only to rub her shoulder as she looks away. “Our overzealous fans. That's why we might need a bodyguard.”
“Mira, what are you-”
It's hard not to smile, even when falling for such an obvious ploy. That is, her soft chest against yours as she wraps you in a hug. Of course, she makes sure to bury your face into the crook of her neck, holding you tight and firm as she sighs.
“Just think of it as a new career opportunity,” she whispers, deftly changing the topic.
Oh yeah, there's plenty of advancement in a gig which is entirely fake that your girlfriend got you. Opinions you keep to yourself.
“Besides, you really do look cute,” she adds, unable to stop her chuckle as she releases you, taking a big step back.
Why becomes apparent as you hear not one, but two distinct screams of joy. A quick glance reveals the source, but not in time to avoid the oncoming barrage of hugs as Mira's bandmates, Rumi and Zoe lunge at you, intent on showering you in more attention than your actual girlfriend. Much to her amusement, you might add...
