Work Text:
“Embrace”
Lately, every day starts and ends the same.
I lay in bed, long pillow plush stretched alongside,
Tucked into my arms, with it's head to the side,
As I cling onto it with absolutely no shame.
Kitten, I would love to pull you into my embrace,
Just like I do with that big, stuffed cat;
Close to my chest, your palm lying flat
On my back, as I, into your hair nuzzle my face.
I would hold you. My hand - weight around your waist,
And I would keep you there, with me, for a while.
I kiss the plush head, as I would yours, with a smile,
And wish the feeling of it, towards you is displaced.
I would hold you in my arms, give you peace,
Content for a bit, safe from the day's trials,
In space, where you don't have to fight any fires,
Just letting yourself be. Exist. At ease.
Mine to care. Mine to love.
Mine.
