Chapter 1: The Bird Meets The Farmers

Chapter Text

He ran.

He ran as fast as he could.

He could still hear Saparta’s voice.

“Run. Run as far as you can, Parrot. This is not your kingdom anymore. It's mine. And just know, after I kill each and EVERY new player, you're next." He said. Warned even.

It’s been weeks, weeks of running non-stop.

He needed to get an army. He needed to make a civilization to defeat Cindercrest. But how can he do that? Where can he find people that he can recruit? He needs to find a place that he can. But… if he stops, who knows when Cindercrest will find him and try to kill him.

…

There’s something in the distance.

What is that?

Parrot slowed down, finally catching his breath and leaning against a tree nearby. He squinted his eyes to see it, but considering how far he is from that thing, he can barely see it. It looks like… a house?

Wait.

There's wheat around it.

Is this a farm?

Parrot didn’t know but, despite his legs burning and yelling at him to relax, he walked to it.

It was a long walk of course, but he managed to get to the house. He did try not to tram the crops and found a path nearby, somehow he almost missed that but he’s thankful that he didn't.

The house was… nice. A small one story house in a big farm area.

It was night but he still knocked on it, waiting patiently for whoever to open the door, even if the person might be sleeping right now.

To his surprise, someone did!

A quite tall lady opened the door, with an invisible player behind her.

Realizing that the two might be confused, he spoke, “uh, hello. I’m Parrot, I was wondering if I could stay for a bit?”

The cow lady (she seemed to be a cow, based on her looks), even though it was night and probably sleepy, was full of energy. “Of course! I can walk you down to where the others are if you want. And I’m Flower!” The kind woman, Flower, said. Leaving for a moment before coming back with a lit torch and some shoes on, before moving past Parrot and leading him to a different house. A much bigger house with a few other big houses like it around, how come Parrot didn’t see this?

They walked to the nearest one, unlocking the door and opening the door for Parrot and the invis person to go inside. “This is where you can stay, there’s others as well by the way, so don’t mind them. Especially the invis farmers.” Flower said quietly, trying not to wake the others up as she showed Parrot the way, before stopping at a door.

“If I remember correctly… this room should be empty.” Flower mumbled, opening the door and looking inside, before nodding and letting Parrot go in. “Hope you have sweet dreams, Parrot! I’ll be here when you wake up to show you through the farm!” She said, before closing the door and walking away with the invis guy.

Parrot couldn’t get the invis guy’s name, but seeing how they seemed to follow Flower, he might be able to get their name tomorrow.

Right now, Parrot is exhausted, and the bed seemed comfy enough that when Parrot sat on it, he sunk a little and was extremely warm, even if he didn’t go under the covers.

He stared at the ceiling, eyelids getting heavy by the second. And before he knew it, he was already out.
