Summary
Two decades ago, Jean Grey was born. Two decades and nine months ago, her mother was paid handsomely to never tell anyone who the father was—not Jean, and certainly not the genius, up-and-coming, war-profiteering billionaire who'd sired her.
Two months ago, Peter Parker saved Jean Grey from Metzger's experiments. Yes, he was the reason she was trapped there in the first place, but he took a bullet through the heart as penance and all's forgiven now, right?
Jean is weary of growing close to someone again, but self-medicating with tequila and vodka isn't soothing the ache in her soul. Peter is still trying to draw a line with his own biology, but trying to pick and choose parts of himself didn't work before and it isn't working now.
When Tony Stark shows up on Peter Parker's doorstep, asking him to go to Germany to fight Captain America, Peter asks Jean to go with him. But Jean knows what the Accords would mean for mutants and refuses to be blinded by Iron Man's flashy tech and empty reassurances. So she refuses to fight for Team Iron Man. But that doesn't mean she's going to let Peter go to Germany unsupervised.
