   Summary

The Battle of Tumbleton is lost before it even begins. Captured by Daemon Targaryen, Gwayne is tossed in a cell on Queen Rhaenyra's orders, and soon finds himself thinking he would have been better off dying at Ser Criston's side.

Ser Criston Cole does not expect to wake, yet here he is, lying in a clearing spared from battle. It does not take long before he encounters Prince Daeron Targaryen, the lad Ser Gwayne spoke of so fondly.

A certain number of plans are made.
