Chapter 1: Chapter One: School's Out? A Surprise Break

Chapter Text

Class 1A was chattering with excitement, as always. As laughs and gossip filled the room there were still those that could care less.

“Tch,” Bakugou Katsuki sucked at his teeth and looked the other way. He just wanted this break to start already. The classroom’s door slid open and students made way to their assigned seats, the energy still a buzz them all. Aizawa entered his room and calmed his class.

“Alright everyone, settle down. I have a few more things to go over before we dismiss. As we’ve been over earlier this week, UA will be temporarily closing for some reasons I can’t share with you. I assure you we are safe, you are safe, and your families are safe.”

Though as he claimed this, he didn’t do much for convincing. “That doesn't sound reassuring, Sensei-Ribbit.” You could always count on Tsuyu to say what everyone was thinking. Aizawa comforted the worry in the room.

“We just need to get some meetings and scheduling together. The most of you are capable heroes with provisional licenses and experience. But besides the point, it's not anything to worry about. Just think of it as a short break.” With that students worry turned back into excitement.
A break sounded nice to the students, time to see their families and let loose.

“But for those who are staying behind, though it’s a small handful I have the principal coming in to explain some rules to you.” Aizawa’s eyes went to the door, and then back to his students. Among them Todoroki Shouto rose his hand.

“Sensei?” Aizawa nodded to him. Todoroki stood. “I’ve actually been given permission to visit my mother, so I won’t be staying behind like previously discussed. It's late notice but I didn’t have an earlier chance to inform you.” Midoriya Izuku turned and smiled to his friend. “That’s great to hear, you must be excited Todoroki-kun!!” Yaoyorozu turned to the standing student behind her.

“Yes that sounds better than staying here for three weeks. You must be happy Todoroki-kun.” He let a small smile show, because of course he was. Attention turned back to Aizawa when he raised his hands and clapped. Todoroki took his seat.

“Okay so that leaves, Aoyama, Uraraka, Tokoyami, Bakugou and Kouda. I know it's just a few of you but let the Principal do his thing for you.” He took a step back and the classroom door slid open, and with that Principal Nedzu made his debut.

“Good afternoon students, it's me your lovable Principal! I’m here to go over the rules for those who will be staying in the dorms while this break is in session. Rule number one!!” He exclaimed while climbing onto the podium. “Absolutely NO one is allowed to leave past 8pm! You see, it’s just too dark out. Rule number two!!” The small creature rose his arms in emphasis.

“Absolutely NO outsiders are allowed in! No visitors!! And rule number three! The most important rule!” He gave a long pause before continuing. “Please be sure to eat well and sleep at a reasonable time!! That will be all!!!!” And with that, Principal Nedzu left, as quickly as he came. Aizawa turned back to his class. “And that is all. Study too and stay out of trouble. Class dismissed.” He crawled into a sleeping bag, and Iida exclaimed. “As class president I think I should remind everyone that we have another hour left of class time!!” But it fell on deaf ears.

“Hmm so Bakugou’s stayin’ behind? Did his folks kick him out for good?” Kaminari pondered rather loudly to his classmates. Kirishima laughed and brushed it off assuring his friends.

“Everyone’s got their own reasons, I don’t think it's like that.” Ashido joined in. “Whaaaat, are you sure? I mean it’s Bakugou we’re talking about,” She said in a teasing tone. With this, the firey blond finally spoke up. Turning to the group of gossiping teens, who had gone quiet for his response.
“Dumbass, It’s not like that. My folks aren't here and all my shit’s here so what's the fucking point of going to a empty house?” Students continued to chit chat amongst themselves and Midoriya Izuku pondered from across the room.

That makes sense that Kacchan wouldn’t bother packing to go home anyway, and that just meant he didn’t have to worry about running into him hot headed outside. As for the others staying, he turned his attention to his usually cheerful friend Uraraka Ochako. She was rather quiet this afternoon. As he thought about it, ever since they got the news earlier that week she had seemed a little off.

Izuku walked to Uraraka’s seat, pulling a chair over. “Uraraka-chan, You’re staying too huh?” He couldn’t help but show some concern in his voice. He truly did care about his friends.

She gave a smile, and noticed a froggy stare was her way also. “Yeah! I’m excited to get some reading in. Don’t worry about it guys, I’m sure we can still hang-out during the day or something! We should work something out.“

Izuku felt something was a little off but he didn’t pry. Ochako would share when she was ready. With the end of the class day students went their separate ways with preoccupied minds.

“I’ll text you, Uraraka-chan!” Izuku exclaimed waving goodbye to his friend. “Me too, Ochako-Ribbit.” Tsuyu gave her friend a hug. “Aw guys, it won’t be forever. Sounds good! Bye Iida-kun!”

As they went their separate ways the remaining students retreated to their dorms. It wasn’t until Bakugou found himself in the dorm kitchen when he came to a realization.
"How many…people am I stuck here with again?”
