"So, Rocky finally told me why he's been demanding we watch each other eat lately," I say into the camera. No one will ever watch these now that the beetles are on their way back to Earth, but I never dropped the habit of making them. They're a nice way to record and organize my thoughts. "Apparently the reason Eridians have an eating taboo is because eating is effectively part of their mating ritual; making eggs takes a lot of extra calories and nutrients, so it became customary for mates to eat together before laying eggs. Over time, eating together became a thing you only do with your mate. Kind of like nudity for humans, I guess."
Grace helps Rocky eat for two.
