“Mm, no. You are allowed to be upset, but you are not allowed to take it out on me. You are not allowed to give me attitude and be disrespectful because you are frustrated.” Ilya explains, using his grip on Shane’s arm to walk him over to the couch.
“Well, I don’t know what you want me to say. I am frustrated. I’m annoyed, and I don’t feel like eating fucking breakfa-” He’s cut off when Ilya suddenly pushes him to his knees on the floor and sits in front of him on the couch.
“What are you doing?” He scowls, moving to stand right back up.
“Nyet. Stay on your knees, Shane.” He snaps, holding Shane in position with his hands on each shoulder.
Ilya knows Shane has a hard time regulating his emotions sometimes. Sometimes he needs help; he needs something to focus on, or a task to lose himself in. He can’t always decipher what he’s feeling and process it healthily.
OR
Shane can't regulate his emotions, so Ilya steps in to help.
