VAMPIRINA: TEENAGE VAMPIRE SEASON 3

Written by: "Fun But Shy Girl"

The final chord of her song echoed through the stadium, vibrating in Vee's chest. As the spotlights shifted from a fierce magenta to a soft, shimmering gold, the roar of the crowd surged—a tidal wave of applause and cheering fans. For a few breathless moments, Vee just stood there, her vampire wings fluttering with an excitement she couldn't suppress. She felt an overwhelming sense of pride; she wasn't just a novelty act or a secret anymore. She was a vampire singer, and the world was listening to her while accepting her exactly as she was.

Backstage, the adrenaline hadn't faded. Vee practically flew into the arms of her boyfriend Elijah, who caught her with a laugh, while Vee's best friend Sophie beamed from behind her, still wearing her oversized headphones. "You absolutely crushed it, Vee!" Sophie cheered, giving her a high-five.

"I can't believe it's over," Vee sighed, leaning against Elijah. "This was the final stop of Millie Eyelash's tour. Opening for her the last several weeks has been so amazing. I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow without a stage to stand on."

"Well, don't start planning your retirement just yet," a sharp, confident voice interrupted. Britney Hightower stepped over to Vee, clutching a tablet to her chest with a smirk of triumph. "As your manager, I've been working some angles. Due to your growing popularity, I'm ninety percent sure I can book you your own headlining tour. You'll be the one and only attraction."

Vee's eyes widened, and she threw her arms around Britney in a sudden, tight squeeze. "Britney! Are you serious? Thank you so much for doing this!"

Sophie looked at Britney with surprise as she said, "You know Britney, I think it's kind of amazing how selfless you've become."

Britney made a smirk as she said, "Well... it also doesn't hurt that working for Vee has now made me become the youngest and most prominent manager in the music industry yet. All this time, I thought getting that spot on Broadway was my ticket to success... but management... that's where the real power is at!"

Elijah chuckled, and then said, "Don't every change Britney."

Vee made a little sigh, and then said, "Well, it's been a long day. I need to go change and take a shower."

Vee then retreated to her dressing room to wind down and change out of her performance gear. She had just wrapped herself in a plush white towel, her skin still tingling from the stage lights, when a strange noise echoed from the hallway. Someone was fumbling with her door handle, then a loud, theatrical scream ripped through the air.

"Oh my gosh! Is everything okay?" Vee gasped, forgetting her lack of attire in her rush to help. She swung the door open, only to find a teenage girl cowering on the floor.

The girl looked up, her face twisted in a fake expression of terror. She pointed frantically to her own neck, where two perfectly circular, red makeup stains mimicked puncture wounds. "Help! Help!" the girl shrieked, pointing a finger at Vee. "Vee Hauntley just bit me! She attacked me!"

Before Vee could even process the absurdity of the accusation, a door nearby clicked open. Elijah, who had been dressing in the adjacent room, stepped out into the hall wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. "What's going on? I heard screaming—"

He stopped dead in his tracks. The hallway, which had been quiet seconds before, was suddenly flooded with the blinding flash of a dozen high-end cameras. Paparazzi, who had somehow bypassed security, were huddled in a tight pack, snapping photos of the scene: the "victim" on the floor, and Vee and Elijah standing side-by-side in towels, looking vulnerable and confused.

The next morning, Vee's bedroom was shattered by nonstop pings on her phone. Dozens of links were being sent to her from every tabloid and social media feed, with titles including: Teenage Vampire Bites Fan Back Stage, Superstar Vee Hauntley Caught in the Act with Boyfriend, Vampirina's Secret Sex Cult

The articles were vicious, claiming that the "bite" was an initiation rite. The headlines speculated that Vee was recruiting naive teenagers into a "Teen Sex Cult" based on ancient vampire lore, framing her not as a pop star, but as a sinister leader of a secret society. Vee looked incredibly distraught as she found herself unable to get out of bed. The world had finally accepted her as a vampire, but now, they were terrified of her again.

"This is insane!" Sophie exclaimed, pacing the bedroom while holding her laptop in front of her. "Look at the comments. They're actually believing this! Mothers are complaining that you've become a bad role model to their children. Also, all these crazy conspiracy theories are floating around now. Someone just posted a 'guide' on how to spot the signs of The Hauntley Cult."

Vee hugged her pillow, looking devastated as she said, "I just opened the door to help someone. How did 'helping a girl' turn into 'starting a cult' in twelve hours?"

Elijah, now fully dressed and looking grim, sat beside Vee as he said, "It's the narrative, Vee. My sister once told me how people love a scandal more than they love the truth."

Tears appeared in Vee's eyes as she said, "It's everything I worried would happen. People fear the worst of me."

Sophie then sat next to Vee as she said, "Vee... yes, some people do fear what they don't understand... but you need to understand, all this online garbage was made by haters that no sense of self worth. So to make themselves feel better, they bring others down. But don't worry. It's not the majority of people who hate you."

Suddenly Britney stormed into the room, her heels clicking like gunfire on the hardwood floor. She was still on the phone, her voice a sharp, commanding blade as she dealt with the fallout. "What do you mean the majority of the public hates my client now? So what? You're not gonna give her that tour we talked about just because lies about her are trending online!? Hello? Hello!? Errgh."

Britney then put her phone down, and looked at Vee with a sad face. Britney sighed and said, "I'm sorry Vee."

Vee now had more tears in her eyes as she said, "Why would they not want me to do a tour? I did nothing wrong. No one was hurt. The police didn't even take me away. They took away that crazy person who was trying to break into my room."

Britney sighed, and then said, "Yeah, and by arresting her, now she looks even more like a victim. Sorry Vee. But as my dad once said, the court of law is one thing. But the court of social media trends is a power no one can appeal. If you're no longer trending in a positive way, there's nothing I can do."

A distraught Vee then put her pillow in front of her face, and then screamed loudly into it.

The silence of Vee's bedroom was heavy later that afternoon, broken only by the rhythmic, distant chime of a clock that felt like it was counting down to nothing. Vee lay curled in a ball, the duvet tangled around her legs like a cocoon of grief. She hadn't looked at her phone in six hours, but she could still feel the phantom vibrations of a thousand strangers dissecting her life.

A sudden, chilly breeze swept through the room, smelling faintly of old library books and ozone. "You know, the 'brooding in bed' look is very classic vampire, but you're overdoing it," a cheerful voice echoed. Vee's honorary ghostly brother Demi materialized beside her, floating horizontally in the air with his arms crossed. He looked at Vee with a mixture of sympathy and his usual manic energy. "How are we doing? On a scale of 'minor inconvenience' to 'total apocalypse'?"

Vee didn't move, her voice muffled by the pillow. "It's a total apocalypse, Demi. The whole world thinks I'm some kind of sinister vampire sex cult leader."

Demi drifted closer, his expression softening. "Maybe this is actually a blessing in disguise. Think about it, Vee. No more grueling tour schedules. Now you can actually focus on finishing school. You're nothing without a proper education. It's something I really should have tried to get over the last few centuries."

Vee finally pushed herself up, her eyes red-rimmed and shimmering with frustration. "That's the thing, Demi! I love school, but being a singer... that was my dream, and for a short time, I had achieved it. When I stood on that stage, I didn't feel like a freak or a secret; I felt powerful. I felt seen." She paused, a sob catching in her throat. "And then, in one single moment, it was all stripped away. It feels like my undead heart has been ripped right out of my chest."

Demi stopped floating and landed softly on the floor. He reached out, his translucent hand patting her arm. "I get it. Truly. It's just... you're still the most talented vampire in the world. A few mean comments on a screen don't change who you really are."

A sad Vee then said, "I know... but for now... can you just hug me Demi?"

Demi smiled as he hugged Vee and said, "Of course Vee. Always."

The following week was a blur of hushed whispers and cautious glances. Every time Vee stepped into the hallways of Wilson Hall, the atmospheric shift was palpable; the usual chaotic energy of performing arts students was replaced by a heavy, expectant silence. People didn't scream or run away—they were too polite for that—but they leaned in, their eyes scanning her for signs of a "cult" initiation. It was a psychological weight that made her wings droop, dragging slightly against the floor as she navigated the corridors.

"I can't do this," Vee whispered to Sophie during a brief respite in the library. "I feel like a specimen in a jar. I can see people debating my morality in their group chats while they pretend to be interested in their sheet music."

Sophie didn't look up from her laptop, her fingers flying across the keyboard. "Which is exactly why I've spent the last seventy-two hours deep-diving into the digital footprints of our victim. Vee, look at this." Sophie turned the screen around. It was a meticulously documented thread of the girl's social media history. "Her name is Tiffany. She's a failed child actress from Ohio who has a documented habit of 'staged crises' to get followers. Look at this post from two years ago—she claimed she was kidnapped by a circus, and the 'proof' was just a photo of her in a tent with a fake bruise on her cheek while a clown is just standing in the background.."

Vee blinked, a glimmer of hope sparking in her chest. "You mean... she's a professional chaos-creator?"

"A professional," Sophie confirmed, her expression one of pure academic satisfaction. "She's a clout-chaser, Vee. She didn't target you because you're a vampire; she targeted you just because you're a celebrity. You're the perfect foil for a 'victim' narrative. She probably spent three hours on those fake puncture wounds alone."

Vee felt a strange mixture of relief and indignation. "So, if we can prove she's a habitual liar, the narrative can change?"

At that moment, Britney marched toward their table, her eyes scanning the room like a hawk searching for prey. She didn't sit; she simply leaned over the table, her voice a low, urgent hiss. "I heard the news about Sophie's recent digging. Tell me you found something that ruins that Tiffany girl's life, because Vee's brand—and by extension, my managerial business—is currently in a nose-dive, and I do not do nose-dives."

"We have more than just ruins, Britney. We have a pattern," Sophie explained, sliding the laptop forward. "The girl that made Vee like bad isn't just a liar; she's a thematic liar. She targets people who are perceived as different, and yet powerful. It's a formula."

Britney scanned the evidence with a clinical eye, her expression shifting from panic to a predatory sort of inspiration. "A formula, huh? Well, maybe we apply this Tiffany's girl's formula to her. We make her look bad the same way she did to Vee. Bring a little scandal her way."

Vee now began to look skeptical as she said, "Britney, I don't think fighting fire with fire is the best technique."

Britney then banged her fist on the table as she said, "Come on Hauntley! You wanna get your dreams, and by extension, my dreams, back on track!?"

Vee made a little sigh, and then reluctantly said, "I guess."

Then a smiling Britney said, "All righty. Then lets get to work!"

The next day: Vee, Britney, and Sophie were gathered around Britney's laptop, like they were preparing.

"And... *gotcha*," Britney whispered, the blue light of three different screens reflecting in her eyes. Her bedroom had been transformed into a tactical command center, with her laptop open to geolocation tools and a whiteboard covered in red string. "A little digital breadcrumb here, a tagged photo of a specific Starbucks branch there, and voila. Tiffany resides at 42 Oak Ridge Lane in the next town over. She's a creature of habit, which makes her incredibly easy to dismantle. Now comes the next piece of the puzzle... ruining her!"

Sophie leaned over, her expression a mix of fascination and ethical hesitation. "So the plan is... what, exactly?"

"A catastrophe," Britney replied, tapping a pen against her chin. "We lure her outside for a peace offering from Vee. Once she's mid-boast, Vee will quickly put a stage knife against her chest, which will break a bunch of packages of ketchup that Vee will be wearing under her dress, and then Vee will fall down, screaming in pain. We'll film the whole thing from an angle, so it looks like Tiffany is some deranged psycho killer that tried to murder Vee. Vee will then become the new victim in the eyes of the internet, and we can even play up the whole repressed minority angle. I've already got a dozen #JusticeForVampirina posts in my drafts, completely ready to post as soon as this all goes down."

Vee twitched nervously. "Does it have to be this... mean? I mean, she lied about what she claimed I did to her, but do we have to destroy her?"

"It's not destruction, Vee; it's rebranding," Britney insisted, "Now, lets head out. We have a rendezvous with a very unsuspecting clout-chaser."

The ride to Oak Ridge Lane was tense. As the trio of teen girls approached a modest suburban home, Sophie and Britney began the final coordination of their phones, preparing to film their trap scenario. Vee meanwhile walked towards the house, her heart heavy. But as Vee approached the porch, she froze. Through the open window of the living room, a man's voice erupted—not in anger, but in a cold, sharp berating that made Vee's skin crawl. She heard Tiffany sobbing, pleading for a moment of peace, followed by the unmistakable, sickening thwack of a hand meeting flesh.

The front door swung open. Tiffany stepped out, her face pale and her eyes puffy. She didn't look like a confident social climber; she looked small, shaking, and terrified. She spotted Vee and instinctively flinched, expecting an attack or a confrontation.

Sophie and Britney were poised to launch the digital attack, ready to watch Vee pretend to be stabbed. But as Vee looked at the red mark blooming on the cheek of the girl before her, the desire for revenge vanished. Vee stepped forward, ignoring the expectant glances from her friends. Instead of a prank or a confrontation, she reached out a gentle hand. "Tiffany?"

The other girl recoiled, her expression guarded and frightened. "What do you want? Come to get your revenge?"

Vee didn't answer the jab. She looked Tiffany in the eye and asked softly, "The man inside... is he your father? Does he treat you like that every day?"

Tiffany froze. The mask of the arrogant social climber cracked, revealing a hollow, exhausted teenager underneath. She looked back at the closed door of her house, then back at Vee, her shoulders slumping. After a long silence, she whispered, "Yes. Every day."

"You can't keep living like this," Vee said, her voice gaining a steady, protective strength. "You should tell the police. You deserve to feel safe in your own home."

Tiffany blinked, genuine confusion crossing her face. "Why are you doing this? Why would you help me?"

Vee smiled, a small but firm expression. "Because it's the right thing to do, Tiffany. Whether you're a human or a vampire, no one should ever forget how to be kind."

A few feet away, Britney and Sophie stood frozen, their phones still clutched in their hands. However as they witnessed Vee's kind actions, the predatory spark in her eyes faded, replaced by a rare, quiet sense of shame.

"I guess the 'rebranding' plan is dead," Britney murmured, though for once, her voice lacked its usual sharp edge.

The screen of Vee's phone glowed under the harsh midday sun of the Wilson Hall courtyard, displaying a grainy video of Tiffany, while Vee, Britney, and Sophie watched. In the video, Tiffany looked small and shaken, her voice trembling as she admitted to the world that Vee's attack on her was all a lie. It was a full, public apology, delivered with sincerity

"So, this is it," Sophie said, leaning in, her eyes searching for a silver lining. "The truth is out. Does this mean the tour is back on? Can we start calling the promoters again?"

Britney made a little sigh, her expression uncharacteristically somber. "Don't hold your breath, Sophie. In the world of PR, a correction is never as loud as the original scandal. Vee may have a few less haters now, but once a lie spreads, it can't be completely erased. People believe what they want to believe, and the haters? They don't want the truth; they just want to hate."

Sophie's face clouded with anger. "That's not fair! Vee deserves justice."

Vee, however, remained remarkably still. She watched the video of Tiffany—a girl who had been as broken as she was dishonest—and felt a strange sense of peace. "It's okay, Sophie," Vee said softly. "Maybe I was expecting too much. I thought the whole world would suddenly embrace vampires just because I sang a few songs; but deep rooted prejudices and fears don't go away overnight. However, I'm willing to work as long as it takes to make my dreams come true."

Britney then scooted towards Vee... and then gave her hug. A confused Vee then said, "Britney, why are you hugging me?"

As Britney held Vee in her arms, she said, "Because you deserve it... and you should feel proud about that, because only the best of the best are allowed to be embraced by the Britney Hightower, future media mogul."

Britney then stood up and walked away with confidence. Sophie just made a little smile as she followed Britney back toward the arts wing, leaving Vee alone in the cooling shade of the courtyard. A moment later, Elijah stepped around the corner, his gaze immediately finding hers. He walked toward her with a heavy heart, his voice barely a whisper as he said, "I wish I could make everything better for you, Vee. I hate that you have to still be going through all this."

Vee reached out and took Elijah's hand, her eyes sparkling. "No amount of lies can take away the good I've already done for others, Elijah. And no haters can change who I am on the inside. I'll just keep showing everyone the the truth about me, not only through my words, but through my actions too, one day at a time."

Moved by her resolve, Elijah leaned in and kissed Vee—a slow, grounding moment that seemed to shut out the noise of the school. When they finally pulled apart, Elijah looked at her with pure admiration. "Vee... even at your lowest, you never stop being so kind and so strong. I love you so much."

"I love you too, Elijah," Vee beamed, leaning her head against his shoulder. "You mean so much to me. You're my number one person I want around... always."

A curious Elijah then said, "By always, do you mean..."

A smiling Vee looked into Elijah's eyes as she said, "Forever... but... we don't have to commit to anything for now. I just... I just wanted you to know how I feel."

As Elijah held Vee in his arms, he suddenly stiffened, a flush of red creeping up his neck. He cleared his throat, looking anywhere but at her eyes. "So, um, Vee... if we do wind up being together long term... just curious... are vampires capable of... you know... in bed?"

Vee let out a melodic giggle, surprised by his sudden curiosity. "Yes, they are. Why do you ask? Do you want to do... you know... in bed... sometime?"

Elijah's eyes widened, and he began to stammer, his face now a deep crimson. "I—well, I just wondered if—I mean, not that I want us to be rushing into anything—but—"

"Excuse me! Are you Vampirina Hauntley?!"

The moment shattered as a girl practically collided with them. She was a whirlwind of purple lace and manic energy, her pale skin shimmering and two small, sharp fangs poking over her lower lip.

Vee made a simple smile as she said, "Yes, I am."

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe it! I'm Nova! I just enrolled today," the girl exclaimed, her voice bubbling over with excitement. She grabbed Vee's hands, her grip enthusiastic. "You have no idea what you mean to me! Seeing a vampire perform on the big stage... it gave me the courage to finally stop hiding in my castle, and actually come to the human world and apply to Wilson Hall! You're my absolute inspiration!"

Vee blinked, momentarily stunned, before a warm smile spread across her face. The heaviness of the previous week—the cult accusations, the canceled tour, the digital noise—seemed to evaporate in the face of Nova's genuine admiration. "You're a vampire too?" Vee asked, her voice brightening.

"Raised for years in the Carpathian mountains!" Nova chirped, spinning in a circle. "My parents kept telling me I couldn't survive in the human world as a vampire, but I told them, 'Vampirina Hauntley didn't let a little bit of adversity stop her, so why should I?'"

Elijah stepped back, a look of immense relief crossing his face as the awkwardness of his previous question vanished. He let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, though he cast a playful, knowing glance at Vee, while saying, "I'll let you get to know your new friend."

Vee waved to Elijah as he walked away, and then looked at Nova as she said, "Well, Nova, welcome to Wilson Hall and the human world. It's not always easy here, and sometimes some people believe the weirdest things about us vampires, but at least you'll be accepted here."

Vee and Nova then began to walk towards the school together, as Nova curiously asked, "So, just for the record, how many years or decades have you been a teenager? I mean, I've been thirteen since 1984. Music just hasn't been as good since then."

Vee blinked, a look of genuine confusion crossing her face. "Decades? I... I just get older every birthday. I thought that was how it worked for all vampires."

Nova stopped mid-step, her mouth dropping open. "Wait. You age? Like, you've actually had to deal with getting taller and seeing your body change while being a vampire? Have you seen other vampires do that?"

Vee began to look confused as she said, "Well... no. The only other vampires in my castle growing up were adult vampires. I just thought vampires start as babies and then eventually become old people."

Nova looked at Vee with fascination as she said, "That's not how this works. Vampires are frozen in their age once they turn. If you've been aging for so many years... then what kind of vampire are you?"

Vee felt a sudden, hollow sensation in her chest as she looked down at her body and said, "I... I don't know."
