Loki stumbled and pressed his hand harder against the wound. He had already lost too much blood.
Where in Hel was Mobius?!
He had no idea where either of them were. B-15, Mobius or himself. He didn't know this Midgardian city where someone had just tried to murder him with a knife.
Blood slipped through his fingers and a shiver ran over Loki's spine.
You are not back there. You are on a TVA mission.
He tried to remind himself of that fact but reality seemed to be slipping and shifting around him. One second he was on a rather empty street, the next a monster loomed over him, sharpening surgical instruments with too much precision and staring him down with amusement.
"Not back there," Loki whispered to himself and rounded a corner. He left shining drops of blood on the sidewalk.
The impact sent him crashing down before he could even see it coming.
Someone had run into him - no, sprinted into him.
"What in the -?"
"Loki!"
"Mobius?", Loki asked because his vision was blurring hard around the edges and the warm blood on his hand made him sick.
"What happened?", and if that wasn't the ever-charming B-15.
"Attempted murder happened," Loki answered and tried to sit up. His entire body flared up with pain, concentrating on the stab wound in his abdomen.
The pained whimper that left Loki's lips was less than dignified.
Mobius face was suddenly a lot closer than before.
"Stay down! We'll pak this and then we get back to the TVA fast as possible," he explained calmly. Loki saw through the careless façade. Mobius was not calm.
He tried for a nod but lifting his head from the pavement only hurt.
"B-15, I need something to pack this wound with," Mobius said. It sounded a little too far away for Loki's ears. His hand slipped away from the wound, too weak to keep any pressure on it.
Immediately, two hands assumed position over the bloody stab wound and pushed. Loki let out a strangled sound of pain at the pressure but he refused to scream.
"Weak God"
The pavement morphed into a steel table, the hands into restraints and the worried words into insults.
"You are not here. You cannot be here," Loki mumbled as a face he knew and feared all too well leaned over him.
"I am right here."
Loki shivered, a year of pain and terror seeping back into his bones.
"No," Loki's voice was too weak to carry far but the face above him twisted around nonetheless.
He didn't know whether his eyes were open or closed anymore but it didn't seem to matter. Thanos was there. He would never let him go. How could Loki ever think he'd escape that monster.
"Is he conscious?", a voice above him asked. Loki knew that knew that voice. He couldn't tell who it was.
"For his sake, I hope not, this is going to hurt," Loki definitely knew that voice. It sounded kind. Worried. It sounded like -
Pain exploded in his abdomen. Monstrous fingers rearranged his insides and split him open at the seams until all Loki could do was pray pray pray pray that he'd die or at least lose consciousness.
He did.
The world went completely dark around him as voices yelled his name above him.
