Chapter Text
Finally, practice is over..
“Hey, Till,” a voice called his name. He turned towards the sound to see a short girl with a bob, his friend Sua. She was walking up to him with something that looked like paper in her hand. “Mizi told me to give this to you. It’s for Ivan’s skating performance.” She handed him the paper, or, the ticket. She then looked up at him and pinched her nose with her other hand. “Ew. You smell weird.”
“Well, yeah, practice just ended.” Till said, taking the ticket from her. “Thanks for the ticket, I guess?”
“You’re welcome.” Sua says flatly before asking in a normal voice, “Are you going to Mizi’s later?”
“Huh? Why?” Till asked as he wipes the sweat from his forehead.
“Cause why not. If you are, we can walk together.” She paused before adding, “Ivan’s going to be–”
“I don’t care about Ivan!” Till blurted after hearing his name. Sua gave him a concerned look. Till scratched the back of his head as he mumbled, “Oh. Sorry. I meant–”
“As I was saying,” Sua cleared her throat. “Ivan’s also going to be there. Just hurry up and shower first. You stink.”
“Sorry, sorry, what do you expect from someone who just finished basketball practice?” Till retorted. He turned around, about to make his way to the locker room before he heard Sua’s voice again. “I’ll be down the hall. I’m leaving you after ten minutes.”
Till sighed as he reached his locker and opened it. He realized he was still holding the skating performance ticket in his hand. He held it closer to his face so he could read the little letters on the paper.
4NAKT ICE SKATING WINTER PERFORMANCE
WEDNESDAY 12/16, ICE RINK AFTERSCHOOL
Today’s December 14th… two more days until the performance.
He turned the paper over to look at the back. It had all the performer’s names on it. Till scanned through each name until he saw Ivan’s. He looked at his name for a while, trying to imagine him gracefully skating on the ice..
“Till! It can NOT be taking you this long to shower. Or at least rinse yourself. It usually takes you five minutes.”
Shoot, he forgot he was supposed to be done by now. He hurriedly shoved the ticket into his bag, took out his towel and change of clothes while yelling, “Wait! Please, just give me a few more minutes!”
“I’m literally about to leave you and walk there myself,” Sua yelled back.
“Just waiiittt, please,” Till begged. He didn’t hear her voice again, but he assumed that she would be waiting. He knew she wouldn’t walk by herself, anyway. The two usually walked together anywhere so they wouldn’t be embarrassed walking alone.
Till turned off the water, dried himself, and changed. He got all his things from his locker before slamming it shut. He then ran out of the room to find Sua.
“You usually never take that long,” Sua commented.
“Um, I was just distracted from.. from something,” Till stumbled over his words.
She looked at him, but it looked more like a glare than a normal glance. “Like what?”
Till felt his face flush as he looked down at the ground. “N-nothing.”
He touched his warm cheek with his cold hand, trying to cool it off so it wouldn’t be as red.
Sua was talking about something, but Till was too caught up in his own thoughts.
Ugh, why is my face so red? And why’s my heart beating so fast?
