Love Notes

Summary:

Just before leaving for school, she checked how she looked in her full-length mirror. In the corner, she noticed a note tucked under the wood, and pulled it out to read it.

Meet me at the quarry after school!

- R.

Nancy had no idea what this was for. Possibly Robin had planned a date? They hadn't been on one in awhile, so that was probably it.

She decided to go downstairs to see if Robin was still there. It was still early in the morning, after all.

"Hey, Nancy," Will greeted, sitting at the dining table. He seemed to be the only one awake.

"Hey," Nancy whispered, not wanting to wake anyone else up. "Have you see Robin?"

Or...
Robin and Nancy exchange love letters/notes

Work Text:

It all started one morning when Robin was leaving the Wheeler's after a sleepover with Nancy. They had a nice sleepover, sharing a few kisses before falling asleep, but unfortunately they still had school.

Robin was in the entryway, attempting to pull her shoes on. She was realizing that she should not have worn converse. Everyone else was in the kitchen or dining room, watching her struggle.

Finally, she got her shoes on, but as soon as she stood up, something poked her foot. "Ow, shit," she muttered under her breath.

"Oooh," Holly teased, hearing the curse word.

"Shh, don't tell your mom," Robin begged.

Holly nodded. She had thankfully taken a liking to her sister's girlfriend.

Robin sat back down on the entryway floor and pulled her shoe back off. She flipped it over and tried shaking out whatever was stuck inside.

A small, folded piece of paper fell out. So she picked it up and unfolded it, abandoning the shoe.

It read:

Have a good day at school! I'm still mad that we don't have the same classes.

Maybe I should join band...

Love you!

- N.

That was a love note from Nancy if Robin had ever seen one. It was really sweet, but she didn't have anything to do with it, so she shoved it in her jacket pocket before struggling with her shoes again.

She should probably write a note in response...

A couple days after Nancy left a note in her girlfriend's shoe, she found a note in her locker.

She was at school, trying to grab her books before her next class. As soon as she opened the metal door, a pink post-it note fell out. Nancy picked it up quickly before anyone saw.

It read:

Did you know... your hair is the most beautiful hair I have ever seen?

Well, it is.

Sorry, that was cheesy. (But it's true!)

Honestly, your hair is better than Steve's. (Do NOT tell him that I said that)

Love you!

- R.

Nancy found herself giggling and blushing at the note. She stared at it so long that she was almost late to class.

Quickly, she shoved it back in her locker and grabbed her books, then sprinted to her next class.

Robin and Nancy were walking back to the Wheeler's house after school. Nancy had given Robin her jean jacket, and Robin shoved her hands in the pockets.

She felt a piece of paper poke her, and pulled it out. It was another note.

Nancy turned to her and gave her a smile, gesturing for her to read it.

I love going out with you. I love hanging out with you. I love kissing you.

The last year has taught me that, and I'm so grateful.

I'm not sure where we would be if we had not partnered together to get information about Vecna, but I really don't want to think about that.

Because, honestly, I don't think we would even be friends.

I've never noticed you in class, and I only ever saw you at Scoops Ahoy.

For that, I apologize.

I love being your girlfriend, I wouldn't have it any other way.

- N.

Robin could actually cry. That was so sweet, but thinking about where the two of them would be without Vecna actually made her quite sad.

A year ago, she only had a crush on Nancy Wheeler, but she was able to become her girlfriend.

Without Vecna, that would've never happened.

That's probably the only good thing about the entire Vecna situation.

Robin turned to Nancy and just hugged her, burying her face in the crook of her neck.

"I love you," she whispered, then pressed a kiss to Nancy's neck, over a hickey that she had given her a few days prior.

She could feel Nancy giggle. "I love you, too."

The next note was found a few days later.

Nancy woke up the day after having to sneak Robin into the house. Finals were coming up, so her parents banned her from having friends over.

Just before leaving for school, she checked how she looked in her full-length mirror. In the corner, she noticed a note tucked under the wood, and pulled it out to read it.

Will gave her a questioning look, knowing about the rule that Nancy's parents had set for her. He didn't seem to care all that much. "Yeah, she just left," he answered.

"Did she say anything to you?" Nancy asked.

Will shrugged. "Just asked if me and Mike are dating... for some reason. It was weird," he said, as if Mike wasn't literally asleep with his head on Will's shoulder.

Nancy nodded. Apparently she'd just have to wait.

After school, Nancy went to the quarry to meet up with Robin. She half-expected for Robin to walk there with her, but that didn't happen.

Robin was already at the quarry when Nancy arrived. She was sitting on an old quilt, laid out over the rocks. Her leg was bouncing like she was nervous.

"Hi," Nancy greeted, sitting down next to her.

Robin lit up immediately. "Hey, love," she said, smiling.

"So... why are we here?" Nancy asked.

"Well," Robin started. "You know how me and Steve have been working at the jewelery store lately?"

Nancy nodded.

"Well, a few weeks ago, I saw this necklace, and ever since, I've been saving up to buy it for you," Robin told her. Then, she pulled out a small, velvet box, and handed it to Nancy.

Nancy opened it, and inside, she found a gold chain with a heart-shaped locket at the end of it. "Wow, honey, this is beautiful," she said.

"Open the locket."

Nancy did. There were two pictures in it. On one side, there was a tiny picture of herself, and on the other side, there was a picture of Robin. Nancy gasped, overwhelmed at how cute and sweet it was.

"Now, everytime you close it, our pictures will kiss!" Robin giggled.

"I love it," Nancy told her, grinning.

Robin smiled. "Here, let me put it on you," she offered, reaching out to grab the chain.

Nancy turned and pulled her hair to the side so that Robin could properly clasp the necklace around her neck. Once it was on, she turned back so that Robin could see how it looked on her.

"You're so beautiful," Robin complimented, "The beautifulest lady I've ever seen."
