He cannot focus on the task at hand, only on her, and that is the perpetual problem, isn’t it? These scenes require patience and structure, and Colin has never possessed either—a truth he can usually outwit, and the entire point of the whisky, the pen, the ritual—but her arse is right there, and she is being so good, so still, waiting for him, and he has to force himself to look away.
