Summary
Erling was greedy enough to admit to anyone who asked that he actually prayed for that relationship to end. And all his prayers were answered, because two months ago, they broke up.
And he played the role of the best friend perfectly: he hugged Jude when the younger one came home crying, saying his boyfriend had dumped him; he bought ice cream, watched romantic comedies and boring James Bond movies, listened intently while Jude bitched about his ex to God and the world, and gave the best advice he could — all while looking up at the sky, thanking God for the blessing.
