    “W-Wade?” There was a prominent pause in Peter’s sentence. “Are you…uhm…busy?” Some faint shuffling was heard from the phone, and a lot of heavy breathing. It sounded like Peter was in bed already, but it was barely 7:00 PM. Most of the time, he’s on the couch watching sitcoms until he comes home with snacks and they both clean up for bed.

    “I’m on patrol, so a little bit busy. But there hasn’t been crime for the past…one minute and forty-five seconds. I’d say that’s a new record, huh?” he chuckled, hoping Peter would match his energy. Instead, his boyfriend whimpered of all things. It shocked him. Worried that he was being harmed, he pushed a little further. “Baby? You okay?”

    “Y-Yeah! I’m—I’m fine, Wade, just…could you keep talking? I want to hear about your day.” Peter hastily got out, but he was all out of breath and squeaky.
