Summary
After a rough, eventful hunt in Idaho, Sam and Dean had picked a motel tucked away in the mountains to get some much-needed rest.
Sam was getting worse by the day. Lucifer never let up, relentlessly chipping away at his sanity until distinguishing reality from hallucination had become a struggle in itself.
Sam felt as though Lucifer had become an inseparable part of his mind and soul, something he could never escape, no matter how hard he tried.
Still, he was doing everything in his power to keep Dean from catching on to the presence of a third person haunting every waking moment they spent together.
