Work Text:

Zach felt like he was going to throw up. Not because he was nervous or anything, but because he realized he didn't want to get married.

was one of the only people that understood him, but he also realized that he couldn't love him. He was standing in front of the door, about to marry the supposed love of his life and all he wanted to do was run away.

"Okay you ready for this?" Lomedy said beside him. It was the farmer who was walking down the aisle ,well because Render lost the bet. How could he tell one of his best friends that he didn't want to do this anymore? They had all spent so long planning this day.

"Yeah." Zach said under his breath. Was he really going to do this? To marry someone that he stopped loving? Someone that maybe, just maybe, he never loved.

Lomedy nodded, probably confusing his tone with nerves. Yeah he was nervous, nervous that this was all for nothing and that everything was worthless.

The doors opened in front of them, leading them to the beautiful church. All their friends and family were gathered for them. Vile almost rose up his throat as they began walking.

His suit was too tight. His shoes too big. His smile fake. The decorations beautiful. Wifies as handsome as always. Wifies was wearing a simple black suit, and they both had a matching purple handkerchief.

The more he thought about it, the more Zach felt guilty. He didn't want this. He didn't want Wifies. Sometimes he wished he could be stuck in the skin caves, stuck with Atlas.

It was wrong and messed up, but thinking about it, he wished he were marrying the avian. Atlas wasn't in attendance because he said he had family business to attend to, maybe that was for the best, otherwise this wedding might've been ruined.

Of course Zach loved Wifies, but not in the romantic way. Their relationship was barely functional, they both knew it. Wifies with his whole clone business on top of his investigations, the wedding was mostly something to try and fix things. They both knew that this wasn't fixing anything.

Wifies smiled as Lomedy handed him over at the alter. The priest started talking, but Zach didn't hear anything. All he could hear was Atlas's accent and his beautiful green eyes. Maybe the cave or the AI had messed with his brain. It didn't matter. It was too late.

"And Zach, do you take Wifies to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The priest turned to him.

Zach's throat dried up, his tounge too heavy on his mouth. Everything was wrong. The priest was looking at him. Wifies was looking at him. Everyone was looking at him.

"I-I-I—."

"STOP THE WEDDING!" The doors slammed upon. Zach knew that voice.

"Stop! This! Wedding!" The avian shouted as he walked down the aisle. Immediately several gasps and even a laugh echoed through the church.

"Wh-what? Atlas?" Was all Zach could say as the white-haired avian stepped up the altar.

"You actually made it." Wifies spoke beside him.

"Shut up you stupid thing." Atlas turned to face Zach. "This is not real Zach! None of this is, Zach, please IT has you in your clutches it messed with your mind or something."

"Not real? What do you mean? We escaped the caves."

"No. No we didn't Zach, please Zach, it's messing with you." Atlas grabbed both his shoulders.

"Don't listen to him Zach, he's lying. He's just jealous of our love." Wifies said, but his voice sounded wrong.

Zach sighed, "Ugh, fuck you. Fuck you, you stupid AI. FUCK YOU." Zach grabbed onto Atlas's scarf and pulled him close to him.

Atlas was cold, way too cold, but his lips? They were pure bliss. To think he was going to marry someone because of the stupid AI.

When they separated they were back in darkness, back in the caves. "Oh my god. How did THAT even happen?"

"We got separated during a puzzle and I found you talking to yourself. I'm guessing the AI made you see a hallucination or something, so I just tried my best to guess what was happening. Though it was creepy seeing that other player, well the AI pretending to be Wifies or whatever his name was." Atlas tried to explain as best as he could. Though the kiss did mess a bit with his words. He wasn't expecting for Zach to be such a good kisser.

"Ah, yeah. Yeah I guess so. BUT SERIOUSLY A WEDDING? WHY WOULD I MARRY WIFIES? HE'S MY FRIEND!"

Atlas chuckled, "But you would kiss me?"

Zach simply stared at him, and pulled him close to him again. This time their kiss was all teeth and tounge, both of them fighting for dominance. In the end they just separated when neither had the strength to do so.

"Let's move to a different area, we have a lot to talk about."

"Mhm." Atlas hummed, guiding them out of the weirdly shaped cave.

As their hands moved together Zach smiled, the wedding was fake. That was good. Of course he would never actually marry Wifies, or any of his friends. Yet, thinking about it, the AI somehow messed with his memories, but it couldn't erase Atlas.

Whatever the AI did, couldn't replace the friendship and love he had found in Atlas. They both resented each other when they first met, but now, now things were vastly different.

"Want to get married when we get out of here?" Zach asked.

"That is highly irresponsible."

"Why? You just saved me from getting married. Isn't that romantic? It would actually be wrong if we didn't get married."

Atlas rolled his eyes, "It was a fake wedding."

"Ours would be real and much better. I have the money to afford it, you know?"

"Of course you do, Mr. YouTuber. Would I get a split of your money if we get married?"

"That and much more."

Atlas pretended to think for a second, "I'll consider it then."

Zach laughed as they traveled through the cave, maybe, in another life, Atlas would've stopped his wedding. Or maybe he would actually get married to the man.

What was more romantic then marrying a guy you met in a place called the skin caves?
