"Didn't catch me, though."
"No, unfortunately." Charles has moved closer again, or maybe Max has, he's not entirely sure anymore. His hand settles against Max's forearm as he leans in to be heard, and he gives Max a smile that has absolutely no business being directed at him after midnight in a fucking nightclub. "But I made you work for it."
Max's eyes drop to his mouth, and Charles sees it, because he's standing right there, looking at Max while he does it, and when Max looks up again Charles is still smiling, only now there's a slight flush climbing his neck and his hand hasn't left Max's arm.
"Yeah," Max says, and his voice comes out a little lower than he'd intended. "You did."

or: Charles shows up to the Singapore Grand Prix in a black race suit, and Max realizes that he's far from being over his Charles Leclerc problem.
